I uploaded a pic of my mill. It took a while to get it to size.
Today I cut some white oak. Want to make a porch glider for my wife. I was almost finished with the log when the blade went every way but straight. The way it looked I must have hit something hard.Sharpen it and hit a some dirt. Quit for today.

Now I gotta find where that pic went.

Hiya. Looks like yer mill is doing fine. Sure would like to see some more cover over them wheels. If ya push and pull yer sawhead by hand, You DEFINITELY need more cover added. I was really surprised the first time I had a blade break. I have full covers made from 3/32nds steel, and they got a few bumps and dents.  :o :o :o The blade will catch in the tire and start flailing, till it wads up.  My son has a grip of death, and he uses a pair of Wiss sheet metal cutters, to take the bent, twisted blade out of the housing, in pieces. ;)

My problem is       Where is the url to the picture??
Richard

Fla._Deadheader

If it up-loaded, it's in the Gallery. Go there and search the latest list, by date, and when yer in, scroll down to whatever ya named it. Open that by clicking on it, and you can then click on "add to post". Nuttin to it  ::) ;D ;D

Where is the image code ?
Richard

Tom

wood haven
when you click on the add to post , it puts the image code on your clipboard.  That's a little hidden area in your computer that can be accessed by cntrl/c to put it on and cntrl/v to put it on your screen.  The button makes it easier.

After you have put it on your clipboard, go back to your post and get in the Modify mode. That's a tag on the upper right side of your post.  This will give you the updatable window again.  Then put your cursor where you want the picture.  Preferably up against the left border, and click "insert image code"  which is the tag under the window.

I give up. I tried this about 6 months ago and I could'nt get it to work then either. Guess I will try again in 6 more. I don't use internet explorer would that make a differance?
Richard

Tom

Let me put something together for you to look at.  give me some time.

Fla._Deadheader

Any idea what the file name was, when ya up-loaded it???
Tom suggested using a prefix- type thingy, in front of yer file name,  Like I SHOULD use FDH.whatever.jpg. I Don't do it either, but, I SHOULD !!  That would make it easier to keep yer pics grouped, so ya can find 'em easier. ::) :) :)

You really didn't believe I had a mill did you.
What do think of home made?
Richard

Fla._Deadheader

I LIIIKE homemade.
Try this, go back to your post and click on "modify". Then choose "Gallery" at the top of the page. Open the Gallery and find yer pic.
Then, click on yer wht.jpg and get yer pic to appear on the LEFT screen.
Then, click on "add pic to post" or whatever it says.
THEN, a grey box appears. Click on OK and then close those windows until you are back at your post.
Click in the post, somewhere, to get yer cursor to appear. Hit enter a couple times to get cursor away from text.
Click on yellow highlighted command on right side that says" add image to post". If a bunch of stuff appears, You're IN. The pic will show , on the forum, when ya hit the "save" command.
That may be where ya missed it. Try it. You almost had it before.  ;) ;)

Now I know I'm crazy. That didn't work either. I don't get the screens or the gray box you said. I really don't think my brouser is  going to work with the system. I use Netscape 7.2
If I knew the url to the picture directory I could just type it in. That would work mabe.
Richard

Fla._Deadheader

Never did like netscape.  Here is the URL
   Try typing it in.

Well, it worked. ::) ;D  I'll send it to yer PM, then you copy and paste it to your modify post.

What you use on the forum are not really html tags. They are UBBC tags. Html are not allowed to work for obvious security reasons. You did however figure it out. Good show!

A differant picture just to prove myself. I think my problem has been that I don't use frames which is needed for this to work right.

It was a Turner I found rotten in the woods by accident. It was a lot of rusty shafts and pulleys. I gave the guy $200.00 for it as junk steel. The only things I was able to use were the carriage wheels, head blocks, set works and track. Except for those parts I designed and built the whole thing myself. It was originally mounted on 12" timbers and took up a lot more space than it does now. When I first run up on it in the woods I had no idear it was a sawmill. I read a lot of books and looked at a lot of pictures and decided I was going to build a sawmill. Now I wouldn't take something pretty for it. It took me 5 years to build. I use a 52" blade with 50 insert teeth and cut at about 4" per second. I am now building a new engine for it.
