"Both the Left and the Right are quite unhappy with what we came up with,"
says Conrad. "It's kind of sad that offering solutions to a serious
challenge facing the country is seen as being disloyal to one's own party."

Sad maybe, surprising in the least, no.

Some potential good news from the "Gang of 10" in the senate on a compromise
approach to energy issues. Lots of rabid partisans will be looking to kill
this once the Senate returns to session.

"If the plan does come up for a vote in the Senate, it will be a key test
for both Presidential contenders, forcing them to go on record on a major
issue."

I hope the voters will be watching this one closely. I will.

As much as I would like to see this happen I seriously doubt Pelosi or Reid will let the bill see the light of day in the next 60 days.

Here's an update of this.

Not looking very optimistic for a bi-partisan compromise.

Sadly, it looks like politics as usual.

It's all smoke & mirrors because the Senate & the Congress won't pass the Energy Tax incentive program. Which keeps investors money in thier pockets. If you want the real story (READ) HOT,FLAT & CROWDED by Tom Freidman
