Ran across this in my latest "Bottom Line"; Small metal device that you can attach to a key chain or dog collar. It is tear shaped and all you do is place it around the tick and gently pull it off. It completely dislodges the tick. Cost: $5.00, call 203-228-7923; http://thetickkey.com  .

Looks like a good idea. We seem to be getting more and more ticks and in areas we never experienced them before.

When we were kids mothers and grandmothers had some  strange ways of removing ticks. from polish remover to soap and a hot match head, and others im sure I cant remember.
So as youngster I was pretty sure that I was gonna die from the tick that i had stuck in a groin area. And the fear of telling mom  my problem for the fears of removal and the pain and embarassment that was cumming from the ticks location and her choice of removal aids.

The doctor who is treating me for Lyme disease gave me one very similar to that and it works great.  Mine even came with a little vile to put the tick in so you can bring it to the doctor for identification.
