I have a chance to get some blow down d-fir ,It's been down 19 month's still has root's ,at about 3500'elv. For lumber and log house .I have not seen yet so I dont know what's under the bark .Some thought's 'wood' help THANK'S      paka

If the tree has been dead for awhile it could easily have beetles under the bark.  Knock some of the bark off and check.  Normally 19 months is not too bad without exposed cut ends.  The worse case should be that you have some beetle damage and need to discard some outer cuts.  If beetles go deeper that could be trouble.  If the tree stayed green for awhile, chances are that the wood is still good.  It would be best to saw it up as soon as possible or get it in water.

I suspect it will be fine, I am at the same altitude as you, same situation with a blowdown and it was a couple of years down.  Nice wood inside.
