This feller was the biggest we saw.  It was yesterday as we were leaving at 6 am. for the airport, but that is a whole other story.  ::)  All of the videos were taken within a mile of our camp.   I mighta coulda put this in How'd you get yer username board. :D

Here is a Picture from the Wild Game Cam we put down by the stream.
I left the manual here in Fl. and didn't remember how to set the date.
You have to do that every time you change the batteries.  ::)
This is our 4 wheeler trail down by the stream.

This young feller was right across the street from our driveway.
You can see the Potato Farmer in the field as the Moose runs by.

In a little township called Cyr Plantation, Northern Maine.

Warbird

Are these wild moose?  I hope my comment about food didn't offend.

Wild dey is. :D
There are alot of Bog areas and Moose love to eat aquatic plants so they are very plentiful there.

I'll credit these Tracks to being from a Moose because anything would be kinda scary eh?  This track was on my woods road.

Warbird

Yup, I'd say that is a disfigured moose print.  Suppose it might be a large wild boar but I don't have any experience tracking those.

Not a Boar Warbird, lucky its not looking at the size of those prints. ;D I am heading out in the morning to clean a couple up, i will try and get a pic of their prints to compare.

Mooseherder great pics, is it permissable to hunt them, if so what do they eat like, are they similar to deer. Like Warbird said, "not wanting to offend" just interested in knowing if theyre a game animal.

Yes, they are hunted in the Fall through a lottery system.  I think it is about a thousand (maybe 1500) head per region.  It is a very much sought after food source.  You can enter the lottery either resident or non resident.  State of Maine website has that information.   There are 2 regions North and South that have different hunt dates.  Pappy or the Cfarm may have better information.  There are alot of road kills with vehicles every year.  The young Moose by the Farmer's tractor died the same night we Taped it.(on Reply #3)  It was hit around midnight.  The driver who hit it didn't wait for police to arrive.  The cop had to stop the animal from suffering.

Tom

I've never seen pictures of one moving across an open field before.  They move more like a horse than a deer.
