smart granddaughter

Have to brag about the granddaughter.Went to her 8th grade promotion.She was all dressed up and looked almost 20.    when the principle was calling names for the President Award,he called her name.This award is only given out to students that maintained an  A- and above all through middle school.We was some surprized and happy for her.Afterward she told us she thought she might of made it,but did not know for sure.
Promotion sure is alot differant now.When I had it we all went into the gym during a school day and was called down to get our certificate.The principle spoke and that was about it.
Now it's almost like a high school gradutaion.The principle spoke,the state rep had a award for the most outstanding 8th grade,2 scholarships was given out for science and math camp this summer.The legion gave out some money to 4-5 kids.There was an award for one for the most helpful student during middle school.Seemed like there was a few more too.Two students came up and gave a speech too.There was probaly 200 people there and a dance for the student after the promotion.We are all real proud of her.
