Wad just wondering how many cubic yards of shavings in a cord of sycamore. Just have the feeling local shavings mill is ripping me.

it would depend on how tightly it was compressed....

Weigh the wood before the shaving mill, and weigh the shavings afterward.  Should be pretty close, given little drying time of the shavings.

Trying to determine based on the volume would be dependent on a number of variables....seems to me.

Figured it was a guess question, but since there is so many people smarter people than me on here though I would give it a shot. :D

Well, I thought it was firewood being loaded by FEL bucket, so I would say 5 cubic yards, slightly less but close enough.

Now that's it's shavings, good luck.  The shaving pile will be like moving popped corn versus corn kernels. :D
