I'm pretty sure it's only on the 353 and not the 346.

Just pull it like a man, pull it like a logger... J.Browning.  ;D

advantage or not to have one?

sissyness aside, does it really help on wear and tear to have the comp release liek they say?

I have the compression release on my Stihl MS361, but never use it.

Advantage..?   don't know.

Just bought a 346 xp today with the grey side cover and the salesman said that that is the new one with 3.7 hp.  And i can tell you it screams especially once you take the rakers down and remove the screen in the muffler. wow is all i can say! for a light weight saw this is the real deal.

We are going to put a 9 tooth sprocket and a 12 inch bar, it'll eat.  Mine has a black compression release the salesman also said that the different colors are for different rates of release the blue ones are for the bigger saws. the saw is very very light.

It also has the new type chain very bad to the bone

9 tooth?  You must not be cutting anything very big.  Over on another forum a 7900 Dolmar took 3 seconds longer with a 8 tooth compared to a 7 tooth.   Steve

The very first models didn't have one. Everything after that should - on the right side by the handlebar.

WHS full!

The place only had the 8 tooth 325  pitch sprocket so we too the clutch off and put the new bigger sprocket on and the chain speed is alot more.  No it's a 5 inch diameter and smaller trim saw not for blocking firewood hense the 12 inch bar i have the 365 class for that
