Wasn't me, but I am proud of whoever did it! And, thanks to my buddy Hoss, who took the pic. I was proud of him, because he said he THOUGHT of me, when he took the pic!

They had to CUT the tongue off of the truck, because AFTER they went into the rest area, and came out and TRIED to go, it had ALL fallen down! The tongue was all kinked up.

Say, how many logs can you get into a VW bus?

Hey SD,

How did you know I had an old Ford Bronco that had 243,000 + miles on it before everything started leaking at once?  Had that thing for 13 years before it basically gave up on me.

I don't know what kind of pine that is, if it was around here, it would be red pine. Not exactly as light as white. ;)

From the height of the uprights they could have been planning on a bigger load. :o  Or maybe they lost some already. ::)  One question, did they pull their plate on the trailer?  Maybe they are going to cut their losses and run. :D

As much as I detest the DOT cops around here, deep down I know that they are there to try and protect everyone from people like this.

Now if we could only find the owner and obtain the correct wieght, we could take guesses on the wieght. The one closet to the correct wieght could win a prize. :D

Does that include me ??? :-\

Anyone know what the fine is in MI for being over height?

Reddog

Well Furby,
After he sees you have a CDL.
I would say the ticket would read,No permit. No signing for oversized load. No lead car with a strike pole. No lead car with signage. No lead car with warning lights. No chase car with signage. No chase car with warning lights.
Now to the load. No signage on the load. No strike bar on the tow vehicle. Non DOT approved tie downs. Load not properly secured. (You never win on that one with odd loads)

I would say close to 5K if he wanted to be a

But if you are a happy home owner with no CDL. He shakes his head, and says don't let me see this again.   :D

Furby

Yeah, the CDL is the stick point. :-\
I don't fall under any of the above other than the 13'6" height limit.
So that and probly not agreeing with my tie downs would be it.
I cut it to 8' wide and over hang is not counted.
No permit needed 8' and under.
Signage on building/vehicle needed over 8' wide as well as permit.
No escort, light bars and such until you are over 12' wide.
No permits issued for anything over 13'6" or over 14' wide (overhangs not included) based on what I read on the state site, yet I see loads larger than that in MI several times a year. ::)

J_T

Furby you moving your house down south ??? Nice motorhome :D :D
Jim Holloway

Furby

Yup, that's the bedroom and bathroom.
The garage is the next load. :)
