Just got word from the saw doc, the 44" 3 pattern Hoe headsaw that was bought by grandad in 1936 has finally worn too much to rework.  :'( :'( :'( :'( Doc says its a bit too thin in the gullet and could have trouble holding teeth.  >:( I'll have to find a permanent place for it on the wall next to the old hand crank forge and blacksmith tools.  :)

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to switch to the 1940 48" Hoe !!! ;D ;D 8) ;D ;D

The title of your thread reminds me of a joke I heard, but I don't think it would fit well here. :-X :D
The old blade deserves that spot on the wall after 72 years of faithful service.

Think of some good art to put on it and get it painted or cut. This is an old blade that came with my mill, but was bent from leaning against a tree for 30 year. The other one was just laying around.

That was a good ole hoe,but at least it died an honorable death after yers of faithful service.I've got a good plate disston no teeth and shanks,a toothless terror.
