I am going to try my first photo post.
We will see if this works.

I think I have done it.
The photos are of the barn I built with my own wood.
Me doing some sawing.
And my sawmill and tractor in the barn.
let me know what you think.

Finished my house finally. Completely sawn out on by band mill. It took me 7 years but was worth it. Hardest thing I have ever done.

I think you did a jam up job on the photos.  You've done a good job on the barn too.  I'll bet you could saw in there if you had too. :)

Thanks all, I am extremely proud of it. I am not a carpenter you see.
(you know how pride comes before a fall)
I produced every stick in it except for the nine attic trusses which I bought.
It took my wife and I a years worth of weekends to do it which I think I
could half if we did it again. But stopping and starting every weekend sure eats up the time. Thank you all for your nice comments on it.

Drying in it now are all the materials for a thirtytwo x thirtysix foot house over a full basement. Utilizing the same attic type truss.
I will start on it this spring hopefully after I get the dirt work done.

I'am try to stop being a wanna-be also.

Weekendsaw; It is steel siding that I purchased. I thought about wood siding
but I am fortysix years old and I figured that that would put me to maintaining it
at a time in my life when I would not want to do it.
I thought I could put it up and never have to mess with it again.
If I had wood sided it, it would have been with board and batten.

Sheesh, pups  ::) ::) :D :D :D :D

Uplander, you did a fine job, milling, building and posting.

If I might make a little suggestion, when posting multiple photos, hit the space bar one time between image text. That keeps the photos from blending into each other.

Nice. How big is the building? Looking forward to more pictures of the house being built.I would suggest all 3 foot doors in your house.Easier to move furnature into and easier to move around in a wheel chair. My wife was in one for a few weeks. This is our last house so I might get a chance to try it out too in many years to come.

Good job and good thinking, Uplander!  I'm gonna put a metal roof on my house for the same reason.  I figger about the time 20 year shingles give it up, I'll be 81 and won't have 2 nickels to rub together. :D

Fladeadheader; Thanks for the photo posting tip.

Thecfarm; The barn is thirty feet by forty feet with the trusses spanning
the long axis. I was planning on large doors for the house also.

Dang; The house, when I get there will definetly have a metal roof.
I am going to get the local amish to put it up and run their "standing
seam" machine around it.

Logdog; I almost forgot you. I am from southern Indiana near Crane
naval base.
