Edger Blade Speed

We are getting ready to change our edger from a flatbelt drive to PTO.  Would like to get the correct speed for the mandrel shaft using 16 inch blades.

2000 to 2200 rpm is what the book says... use your judgement though.

I agree Tim. 2000 has always seemed about right for me. I just can't keep it there when running 3" & 4" walnut.

At 2000rpm would give you a rim speed of 8400ft/min.,you could go a little slower for a insert tooth blade.
How are milk prices, my neighbor is getting 10.30 and is not very happy.
