what can anyone tell me about these saws. i can see that it is old and i can see that it it all there. except for the toggle switch on top is broke.
it still has good compression, at least it seems like it does.

to me it just looks cool, and i really think it can run again. i can get it for 40 bucarooneys.

Somewhere a long time ago, Mono saws were mentioned on the forum.  A little more information was given about that company ;)

NOW I HAVE A TECHNICAL QUESTION oops. not that tech. it says 16 to one mix ratio. will the current nowadays mix oil work in it . or would it be best to go with the sae30# non detergent motor oil. no hurry i am aways off from blast off i think.

My buddy insisted on running 30W at 16:1 in his old Johnson outboard just like he did as a kid. The thing was hard to start, would not idle, and puked vanilla colored sludge (water and unburned oil) from the exhaust port.
I suggest trying two stroke oil at 20:1 or even 24:1 but that is as lean as I would go. The old saws have bushings instead of high speed bearings. Just my 2 cents.

i will try my bestest to get the photos today. thanks for the info on the mix.

that is what 40 buckarooneys buys here anyway. ;D

Thanks Ely - Got it runnin' yet?  The link leweee posted said 1960 - 1961, it sure looks older.   Last time I was in Oklahoma was in the early 70's, at Ft Sill - 40  buckarooneys  would set you up for a whole week at the NCO club!  ;D
