Anybody have a home remedy to keep carpenter ants away? I saw mostly Cherry and more often than not there are black carpenter ants in some part of the log.  I don't know where they go once the cutting is over, but don't like the thought of them hanging around.  If you want to attract a lot of bees and wasps to your mill mix some orange sented pinesol on the coolant water they love it, it must remind them of orange blossoms.  I just found out what a mistake it was to get the sented stuff.

Dont shoe the birds out of the mill shed, they clean them up. We feed a lot of birds. :)

We get a lot of bees when we saw tulip poplar.  Of course, it helps when the neighbor is a bee keeper.   :D

In the summer, the house flies love poplar after its peeled.

I've had good luck with diatomatous earth.  Should be available at any Ag store.  BWW
