Rick,

Nice pile of ?      logs?

Looks like they used a dozer to push them in a pile. It almost looks like they cleared a fence line. Iowa cherry from a fence line is pretty nast stuff at times.

Iowa City is 30 miles south of us. Maybe we'll send our logger down to investigate. The log ends are dark so the Cherry might be lost, but the Walnut might have some value.

Yeah, judging from the picture, that's a pretty shaggy looking pile of logs.  It's amazing what people try to sell on ebay.  Maybe a year ago I was wandering around ebay looking at lumber and whatnot, and stumbled across a TREE that someone was auctioning off...it was still standing right next to the house  :o   Opening bid was $2500 for a large red oak that the winning bidder had to remove...I don't think anyone bid on it  :D

ElectricAl, let us know if they're any better looking than the picture shows.

Looks like a lot of stuff that I can get for free around here.
Over year ago I offered a guy $10 per log for about 40 logs
that were getting to the end of their milling life.
He turned me down cause he wanted $25 per log.
The last time I checked, those logs were still sitting there.

He was also trying to sell a circle mill that his father
ran.  It was out in the open and kinda rusted up but I
already had my LT15.
Unfortunately,  his father was a 50+ year old lineman for the local electric company and had been electrocuted on the job.
