I need to read the "How to" page.  ::) ::)  100 years ago, when I was in High School, we used a powder to do it, but, that was 100 years ago.  ::) ;D ;D

Yep, done it.  Oxalic acid comes as a dried crystalline powder, mix it with water into a paste, and apply to the mark.  Let it set, clean it off, and see what ya got.  It will also take the natural color out of the wood.  It is tricky stuff to work with, use gloves or be cautious.

Test it on scrap first.

I had some poplar that laid too long dead stacked. Used it to build a chicken house, it was black, used 50/50 bleach and water with a 2 gallon sprayer, looks fresh sawn.

What language I got comes from running planting crews, sure helps to know when one of the hands calls you a so and so, and you hit em back with  your fired in their language.

I once heard that the demise of the Roman Empire could be blamed, partially, on the unwillingness of the Romans to learn the language of the lands they conquered.  They became so stretched out from their homeland that all semblance of familiarity was gone.  The locals could plan against them and they remained ignorant to the danger while demanding that the conquered speak Roman (Italian?).

it was latin, tom  :D

I knew it was one of those foreign languages :-\ :D

The oil is all in Texas, but the dipsticks are in D.C.

Deadheader,

I am afraid you are right.  Wish it wasn't so. I conprede some s'pano (sp) due to a highschool Spanish course and being around the Mexican boys at feedlots and hay grinders I deal with. To me, it is all politics. They are human being just like the rest of us wanting a better life for thier families.
Like I have said many times. I am thankful I was born a white American.
::)
Getting of soap box now.
Resume the topic of bleaching wood.

I am almost afraid to ask... what wood are you attempting to beach?
So, how did I end up here anyway?
