Prayers are continuing for both your Grandpas, and for you Adam.  I know how hard this is for you.  I went through it four times, until I ran out of Grandparents.  It is a tough thing to see them decline, then go away, but it is the natural order of things.  Spend all the time you can with him, and then rest on the fact that you will see him again. ;)

Since many of you seem like family to me, I thought I would share something that I am going through right now.  My dad has congestive heart failure.  On Monday, he went into the hospital in Mountain Home AR to have fluid drained from his heart and in the process they found that he also has lung cancer.  They also know that the cancer has metastisized.  Many are praying for him (and for me).  I would appreciate your prayers as well.  I plan on staying with him until we can talk.  He can't speak to me right now because of the breathing tube.

I just thought I would let everyone know how my dad is doing.  He is home and feeling stronger.  He went through a period when he denied that he had cancer.  He has since come to grips with that.  He will see speacialists later this month to see if there are treatment options.  Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers.

Earlier treatment might have given her a few more years ??  Hang in there.

Well, for some reason I was unable to find " standing in need of Prayer".

Adam left a little while ago in a hurry and I was told that his grandfather had just passed away, so I would appreciate it if ya'all would remember Adam and his family in this time of need, in your prayers,  Thanks

My heart goes out to Adam.  His caring nature will probably make this very difficult for him.  But, I also feel that he has probably made his grandfather very happy in his life with the attention he has given him and that will give him a fullfillness for the rest of his life.  He's a good man and his grandfather, I'm sure, recognized it.

I wish I were closer to be able to hold his hand and take some of the grief away.

Adam doesn't need platitudes and anything anyone can say doesn't really help, but.........anyone who's lived for a long time has experienced a lot of death.  You never "get over it", but it becomes bearable over time.  I worked for/with/alongside my Dad for 51 years; saw him almost every day.  He wasn't an easy man to love,  but he was still my Dad.  When his health began to fail, I often wondered how I would go on/would I be able to stand not having him around.  Anyone experiencing a death needs to allow themselves to grieve.  Tears can be very cleansing/cathartic.  My generation was taught "Big boys don't cry.........I'll give you something to cry about".  WRONG!!  Please (Adam or anyone else); don't deny your feelings.

Adam, I feel for you...  I lost my grandfather in October 1985. I still miss him dreadfully.

I'll be thinking of you and your family.

Sorry for your loss Adam. Not that it eases the pain or anything, but my grandfather had a double wammy. Went blind over night in his sleep and gave up on life waiting to die for 3 years. He was an avid outdoorsman all his life, a guide outfitter, and a lumber jack.

I would like for those that would to remember my son (John Travis Howard) and his unit, Charley company 476th engineering batillion, in prayer. They left for Iraq Friday. This is their 2nd tour and they are headed for the Sunni triangle.
