Hi,
I once had bad problem with red squirrels getting into my buildings.  I eliminated all my bird feeders, and put traps into boat.
Saw almost intimidate reduction in the tree rats and felt pretty smart, until I began to notice the great horned owl hanging out around my house.
Was years ago, but I remember being able to walk around and find him in various locations.
It was fun to watch, but I never did get to see him grab one of the squirrels.

Squirrels are also active at night time, prime time for the owl. :)

Pre-commercial thinning pays off. :)

Slabs, it is better if I don't know for sure what kind it is because then I wouldn't have a UFO on the property!

Good Point.  It might also screw up the thread name.

I tried for over an hour last night getting that picture from an e-mail from my buddy that took it, into a folder on my computer and still couldn't get it in my gallery. Tonight it went easy (sort of). Now i need to get some pics from my own camera onto my computer. I need to borrow my teenage niece!

I believe he's a little Screech Owl.  Cute little feller.  May be a little shy since he's not looking at the camera like all of my pictures.

Really good picture.

Slabs is correct.  Definitely an Eastern Screech Owl.  Behavior is not atypical.  I am jealous!  They have one of my favorite (and eerie) calls from the woods at night.

Congrats Gary on the picture.  I was leaving home for a few days when you sent the pictures, but now I see that you did it.   smiley_thumbsup
