How much miss-allingment between cuts is typical with a swingmill?

I have a 9" peterson, and it has some needs, that will have to be addressed, before it will be a typical example.

Please reply if you have any knowledge of other brands of swingers too.

Thanks

Nate,

I am not sure what you mean by mis-allignment between cuts.  Are you talking about how well the 2 cuts meet?

Normal step left on a 9" would be about 1/8" at a max.

That can be eliminated with a small shim in the horizontal stop, a folded business card is usually handy for me.

Thanks Cap'n.

I'd think that when double cutting, you'd want the cuts to meet as good as you can.

Nate,

I was cutting with Chris Browne a month ago and he said he uses a bottle cap from a pop bottle, snaps right on over the bolt head and stays there .

Thank you Rathbone. Mine has the bigger plastic bumper, so probably a 16 oz jar lid would add just the right amount of space. I could hang it on a string, and put it in place when desired.

Where on earth do you find such a bunch of helpfull people, as good as this forum?

Back to work.
