The other day I was reading article about sprocket or chain sprocket, but not to much information written about these two types of sprocket .
I need information what is the difference between the .050 and .063 sprocket.
How do I know if that sprocket for .050 or the .063 dose it indicates any part number related to them if I want to use these two for Stihl chainsaw.

jokers is right, the gauge only applies to the width of the bar groove which must be matched to the chain.

 8) 8) 8) Well, that's what I thought, really, really, good to have it confirmed. I went to the .063 bar and chain on the MS 460 from the .050. No problemo.
Stihl MS-361, MS-460 mag, Poulan 2150, 2375 Wildthing.

As they said, but if the .050 is PMX, it could be a problem - the "picco" requires a different sprocket, even though the pitch are the same (smaller drive tangs).
Information collector.
