It seems there is a new pest that is within 30 miles of the Michigan border.  The closest it is right now is in Ontario but I read that it is moving on its own and firewood.

I guess that at the rate this is happening we will not have to worry about cutting trees anymore some day in the future. ::)

I know this insect, it is commonly spread in my country.
But not in large amounts, though.
I’ve never heard of some serious problem due to this particular insect.
On my opinion, this species is a secondary pest, thus I is unlikely to create management/commercial issue. Only weakened trees are to be attacked.

The problem is when these things get introduced here they can become real problems.  The pests never seem to be a real problem where they come from as the hosts there are use to them.

Tom,

Ron,  Soon they will not even have to buy their scrap cardboard boxes back from either. ::)

Hey,  Maybe we should start sending our insects to their country. ;D
