What exactly is ment by "end matched" flooring?

I have laid lots of "end matched" laminate.  Is the technique the same for real wood?  (It is a pain with laminate, can only imagine the difficulty with real wood.)

Are you referring to the techniqu of installing the floor?  It's actually pretty easy, you just tap the pieces together, and staple them down. The process of laying out the planks "Racking Out" in my opinion is harder, trying to get them laid out so there is no stair step patterns or H patterns showing up in the floor.
