Our political survey results are not showing the typical bell curve.  Something must be wrong and I think I know what it is.  It needs another category.

It's missing the - Ultra Right Wing,  extra Y chromosome, conspiracy theory,  card carrying Ditto-Head,  Conservative -  category.

Bibb,

I looked and looked for my catagory------DanG Conservative.

I think Libertarian comes close to fitting the ultra conservative spot. :-/

Ron Wenrich

I'm not so sure about that Tom.  They believe in drug legalization, and abortion.  They are not to holding with intrusive foreign policy, censorship, or federal interfernace with the schools.  They believe in free trade, not one that throws tariffs on trading partners.

I thought there was enough of a difference in their philosophies, that I threw them in the mix.  I don't think you could call them either liberal or conservative.  They part ways with each view, but embarce some of each.

I guess I could have included communist, facist, socialist, and few other "ists".

Tom

Do you wonder where you fit? Here's a just-for-fun test.

What am I?

Bibbyman

I think I could be a Libertarian at the federal level.  If it ain't in the US Constitution, then we have no business or authority over it.  Let the states decide how their citizens should act and how they want to care for them.

If they let me change things,  I'd have the Federal level about 1/10 the size it is now.  Only set standards (money, roads, etc.), military, and foreign treaties, etc.  States would have much more power to govern themselves.

Hay!  Wouldn't that be a Republic?

What party am I?
I am pithed cause the fuel prices are so high and we are NOT in a war............yet.

Just heard on the news that some front line troops, or ones that would be, are going to carry live chickens to detect possible nasty gas if Sadams boys get cut off from headquarters.
Haytrader

Tom

That'll never work.  Now we have to take on the SPCA :-/ as well as Sadam and that creap, Bin Laden and his thugs.

I just took the test and i am a Libertaian, Guess we all need

My results:
Your Political Philosophy:
According to your answers, your political philosophy is centrist.

Centrist
Centrists favor selective government intervention and emphasize practical solutions to current problems. They tend to keep an open mind on new issues. Many centrists feel that government serves as a check on excessive liberty.

Yep, I am a card carrying Libertarian.  Hey, if you lived here you would be too.  I saw a bumper sticker the other day "Communism alive and well in California."

I took yer little test, Tom, and I turned out to be a LEFT LIBERAL!!

Ackshully, I is a individual. I make up my own mind on each issue of interest. Gimme a hunnerd questions, and I might be a conservative or  libertarian, or a centrist, depending on the questions.  I'm not sure I've ever agreed, totally, with anybody, about anything.

Depending on your mood at the moment and also how finitely you interpret the questions would slew this test, I'm sure.  Assuming the test has any accuracy to begin with. :)

 8) me thinks we need a better test everyone here agrees im way to the left lol :-X

I took the test, read the replys, now I can't remember what I am.  Forgetful, I guess :D :D

Bibbyman

I took the test and came out pretty far right.   8)

But I think the test is slanted and worded and so few questions as to make it skewed to the centralist or libertarian side.  But that's probably the Conspiracy Theory tendency in me.

L. Wakefield

I took the test and came out authoritarian  :o  Say what??

But seriously, folks- on the draft, for example- I like the Czech system where EVERYONE gets military training. I'd do this for man and woman. Because the skills and the process are useful- and you then have 100% availability- should you need them. I can think of a lot of overweight folks for whom training would be quite the eye-opener, not to mention a lifesaver. They'd HATE it, though. Have to get off the couch..  lw

Well to be safe from the fanatics on both extremes if any body asks I'm a Centrist that is open to others particular views but generally if someone has to ask me I generally ease on out of the area and watch my backside as I do so !!  I haven't sucked up to much of anything throughout my life and the last free meal I got came with hearthburn and indigestion, and most things you have to stand in a line to get are short lived or are for impaired or challenged people.

Crosscut you must definately be a centrist - can't tell right from left :D :D :D :D :D

I had to take the test twice -
First time I was labeled a borderline libertarian
Second time I became a centrist cause I decided military service ought to be mandatory - we would get in less wars that way

Hey Jim,
Welcome to the Forestry Forum.  You sure picked a heck of a thread to cut your teeth on. :D :D

J Beyer

I came out as a centrist. :-/  Definately to the right of many issues, especially in favor of the new bill being introduced in congress giving the right to defend oneself and family with firearms.  The bill also gaurantees the right to buy one provided you meet the current standards under section something or other.  I say legalize certain things and tax the snot out of it1 ;)

The article appeared on newsmax.com  Email me and I'll send you the link.

JB, I musta took a nap and missed that new bill, I thought carring a gun and defending ones self was in the first batch of rights passed out along time ago. Everyone should have enough metal on their person to deter aggression of the mentally challenged and predator types, I know It's gotten me out of more than a few scrapes !.      LW, your score of Authoritarian kinda reconfirms your GPITA designation at least in your own mind  but I don't buy It !

Back during the 2000 election, they had a similar poll, but had a lot more questions.  They even gave you which candidate held a similar philosophy to yours.

I think I scored about the same.

Frank_Pender

Well, Tom, I took the test tonight.  I can't even find myself on any of the scales listed to the right.  My wife and friends tell me, that even El Rushomo can't hold a candle to me if being concertive. ;D  I must bo some place beyond where LW finds herself. (No offense LW. Please) ::)

Ya know Frank, when my kids were younger they would complain about a teacher our two, I always told them that in my opinion any teacher that didn't murder over two kids a year was a great teacher. ;D  Heard no complaints about teachers after that.

Don P

I saw this on the survey's home page...sure has been ringing in my ears lately.

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither Liberty nor safety." -- Benjamin Franklin

I read this the other day and it has politics, Rush, chickens...just about everything.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

GEORGE W. BUSH

We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know
if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either
with us or it is against us. There is no middle ground here.

RALPH NADER

The chicken's habitat on the original side of the road had been polluted by
unchecked industrialist greed. The chicken did not reach the unspoiled
habitat on the other side of the road because it was crushed by the wheels
of a gas-guzzling SUV.

PAT BUCHANAN

To steal a job from a decent, hard-working American.

RUSH LIMBAUGH

I don't know why the chicken crossed the road, but I'll bet it was getting
a government grant to cross the road, and I'll bet someone out there is
already forming a support group to help chickens with crossing-the-road
syndrome. Can you believe this? How much more of this can real Americans
take? Chickens crossing the road paid for by their tax dollars, and when I
say tax  dollars, I'm talking about your money, money the government took
from you to build roads for chickens to cross.

JERRY FALWELL

Because the chicken was gay! Isn't it obvious? Can't you people see the
plain truth in front of your face? The chicken was going to the "other
side." That's what they call it -- the other side. Yes, my friends, that
chicken is gay. And, if you eat that chicken, you will become gay too. I
say we boycott all chickens until we sort out this abomination that the
liberal media whitewashes with seemingly harmless phrases like "the other
side."

DR. SEUSS

Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the
chicken crossed the road. But why it crossed, I've not been told!

ERNEST HEMINGWAY

To die. In the rain. Alone.

MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.

I envision a world where all chickens will be free to cross roads without
having their motives called into question.

GRANDPA

In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Someone told us
that the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough for us.

BARBARA WALTERS

Isn't that interesting? In a few moments we will be listening to the
chicken tell, for the first time, the heart-warming story of how it
experienced a serious case of molting and went on to accomplish its
life-long dream of crossing the road.

ARISTOTLE

It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

KARL MARX

It was an historical inevitability.

SADDAM HUSSEIN

This was an unprovoked act of rebellion and we were quite justified in
dropping 50 tons of nerve gas on it.

VOLTAIRE

I may not agree with what the chicken did, but I will defend to the death
its right to do it.

RONALD REAGAN

What chicken?

CAPTAIN KIRK

To boldly go where no chicken has gone before.

FOX MULDER

You saw it cross the road with your own eyes! How many more chickens have
to cross before you believe it?

SIGMUND FREUD

The fact that you are at all concerned that the chicken crossed the road
reveals your underlying sexual insecurity.

ALBERT EINSTEIN

Did the chicken really cross the road or did the road move beneath the
chicken?

THE BIBLE

And God came down from the heavens, and He said unto the chicken, "Thou
shalt cross the road." And the chicken crossed the road, and there was much
rejoicing.
