My Rancher has a cracked handle.  It's a small crack, maybe 1" long.  It feels the same as always in my hand.  I did not notice the crack until someone tuned the motor and said that the saw is dangerous because of that.  The saw does NOT feel dangerous in operation.  The handle feels solid as ever.

Has anyone else had a cracked handle like this?

Do you think that I should have the handle repaired or replaced?

What do you think I should do, if anything?

Thanks.

You might consider cleaning the area and run some krazy glue(gel) in the crack.

Would you know how the handle cracked. Is it from being used, dropped, or from a defect. If I thought it was a defect I would report it to Husqvarna as they would probably want you to send it to them and possibly be given a replacement. dave

Which handle are we talking about here?

...and what is a Husky 45 Rancher?

Right - a Rancher 55.

The handle I'm talking about is the one with the accelerator trigger on it.  The crack is located just about where the palm of your hand is.

Glue it if possible. Instead of "krazy glue" you might want an industrial type of super glue especially made for plastics.
After you price a new handle/gas tank from Husky it will be dirt cheap to spend $10.00 on glue.

Maybe stop drill it before you glue it as well.
