Went to the local concentration yard and bought some logs today.
Got 32 all together.
This is a picture of 15 of them.
The old truck dosen't want much more.
Most were over 9' long and average 13" in dia.
D.O.T. is gonna love me. I don't think I am over weight though. Need to add them up and see.

Two Saw you must resist the urge to drive around for weeks with those nice logs.  Yes everyone will be impressed but think of the lumber you could be making.

I do not think you are over weight.  Are they pine or maple?

Did you build the bunks?

Congratulations and have fun getting them safely into a sawing deck. 8) 8) 8)

Most of the logs are oak. There is a sycamore or two in there but they still take them for ties.
I try to average aleast 1 tie and 2 or 3 - 1 X 6 boards I sell for fence boards. Seems to be a good market around here for fence boards.
I built the bunks myself out of 6" I-beams I found used, and 2.5" X 2.5" uprights laying at a local heavy fab shop. Got about $145.00 in them.
Priced the material new and they wanted over $500.00 for the stuff!

Nice load of logs you have there. I would love to see some pictures of the milling process.

Wow!  Did you get those logs for free?  Looks like nice stuff from the pics.  We pay $1.00 a bd ft for white and red oak No. 1 saw logs that are 24"+ up here in Lansing MI.  Is it just the cities stuff?
