Good catch Furby.
The first two were becouse I had not left work yet. The third becouse I had to stop @ work on sunday to get something ;D
The computor at home has been down for a couple of weeks( I don't like to post from home anyway, dial up).

I'll tell you what the "S" is. The piece is setting on an SK 1/4" socket set case. That would be the combination metric/american set.

Beenthere was closest. He wins the prize. (it's best you don't know what the prize is)

It is a slip clutch for an old cable crane. The lever in the cab splined to the gears on this part to engage the cable drum.
