I have a Husky 285 and it has a plastic stop on the high speed screw. I can only open it 1/2 turn. I think it's running lean, because the plug is light gray. Can I remove the stop or should I take it to a dealer?  Also, I run 40 to 1 Husky oil. Thanks for any help.

You can carefully grind the tang off the limiter with a Dremel to allow more adjustment. The 285 is an older saw, I am a little surprised to hear of your problem.

If it was running well before I would question why it requires adjustment now that's beyond the limits of the stop.
If you bang the stop off for more adjustment you might be masking another problem.

Husqvarna recommends a 3% oil mix for engines over 80cc . See page 26 in the owners manual . http://weborder.husqvarna.com/order_static/doc/HOUS/HOUS2004/HOUS2004_1140238-95.pdf               Scott
