I don't know what someone else would use it for, but I see myself using it as an "attention gitter" for whomping catfish on the haid.  the threaded end wouldn't slip out of your hand even if you had a lot of worm "stuff" or catfish slime on them.  8)

Well, you got me  thinking with the hints  and guesses, but this is a pretty funny thread and I am not sure, but is it a clamp for assembling musical insturments : tops and bottoms of guitars, violins or other stringed insturments?

It's a donut holder! Slide it on and clamp it down. Coffee and donuts for fancy folks.
