Include your username!

Guests are welcome to play along, but you must register to enter. :)

D&L Doublecut has graciously donated a very fine grand prize gift for the pig roast in August.  It will consist of a 2 night stay at the local bed and breakfast in Harrison, MI during the annual pig roast. If the Winner can't use it, it will be transferable. They have the choice of gifting it to another member that can use it or it can be donated back to the forum and we will then auction it to a forum member on Ebay. The proceeds from the Ebay Auction will then be given as a door prize at our traditional Pig roast prize drawing.

Here's how the contest works.  There are 10 pigs hidden within the Forestry Forum.  The first one to find one and email Jeff with the exact location will win a pig, which is actually a lighter. (check photo at bottom of the post) If you are the first to find a pig, your name will also be put into a drawing for the bed and breakfast stay.  Sorry, but you will be only able to enter the drawing once.  But, you can keep playing along because if you are the FIRST to find the Black pig, you get to have your name in the drawing THREE TIMES!.  If you find another pink one before anyone else, then the next eligible person to email Jeff will win the chance.

When a pig is found, another clue will be given to the board.  That will give you a direction for finding the next pig.  There are 9 pink pigs and 1 black pig.  To get to the black pig, you will probably need the clues of pigs #3, 6, and 9.  So, good luck.

As an added bonus, anyone else who finds the black pig before Midnight
(forum time) March 31th 2006, will also be included in the drawing.  You just won't be getting a fancy dancy pig lighter.

.....................................................................................................
Good luck and have fun!
Here's the starting clues to get you to your first pigs:

Things to remember:

The first one to email Jeff after finding a pig, using the correct email address and subject line, wins that pig. The winners username, and the clue for the next pig will then be posted.

Pigs all look different. I had to tell Tom what a pig looks like. :)

Pigs like to squeal, but if you want to increase your chances of winning the grand prize, YOU WONT! ;D  (Dont share with yer buddy unless you are willing to decrease your odds)

If you somehow happen to find a pig that we dont know about, that is something that may have already been there and was a natural part of the forum content, HE DONT COUNT! :D

HAVE FUN! (And don't get to blurry eyed. ;))

I want to encourage all members to play along even if you have no intentions of coming to the pig roast. You can be involved if you win by giving the prize to a forum friend that is coming or auctioning it off to surprise a member with a cash gift that attends! :)

Here is a hint that may save you some time.  Using the search to search pig or swine or hog won't do you any good. :)

I must say, the last contest made me blury eyed for awhile. :D

Jeff, it's been such a mild winter, I've worn that jacket ever since last fall. Not in the house of cos. ;) Although, I can take a crispie cold day as long as I'm moving.  8)  I suppose I'll suffer for it when I'm about 60. :D

Good luck all.  :)

Problem is SD, Jeff learned a lot from last year and made changes. ;D
This one is a lot harder AND a game of chance, all I can do is improve my odds. ;)

Thanks for putting this together Jeff! 8)

SwampDonkey

Gee Furby, don't entice me into it. I can crack any nut with preserverance and determination. ;D :D

Jeff

Head starts only mean you might get a pig, not the final prize.  ;D One thing about this contest is that eveybody is always even. When the new clue comes out, everybody has the same opportunity to find the next pig. You dont have to have all the previous locations to find the next one, only the clue.

Ron W Engineered most of this contest, I'm just tweeking and implementing. :)

Furby

Tell me about being even. :o
I gotta wait for someone to find a pig before I get a clue as to where to look.
It's killing me! :D :D :D

Since Ron engineered it........ Thanks Ron! 8)

CHARLIE

I must be blind or don't know what a pig looks like.  I've been looking in a lot of different spots and don't see a DanG thing that looks like a pig. I've looked for tiny pigs, little pigs and big pigs and nothing.....nada! :'(

That's the tricky part, figuring out what a piggy looks like.
How come ya didn't ask Tom to tell ya what a piggy looks like?

I see some of you have figured out the methods behind the clues.  #2 isn't that hard if you look at it and figure out what the clue is telling you.  It gives all the directions to the location of that pig.

Pigs are put in areas where even non-members can find them.

pigman, you must be using something that is changing the picture, like some sort of web accelerator. Your picture is now a gif animation with a flying pig in it.
