My 385XP should have no problem running this sprocket, right?  24" bar...had a 7 on it and 36" bar when I got it...

It will change the drive link count and speed up the chain. The 385 should have no problem with it on a 24" bar.

It should'nt change the drive link count , it will speed up the chain though . The 385 has plenty of power to pull a 8 tooth sprocket on that bar , it's the same combo I have and have run on friends saws with no problems at all , your drive link count should stay the same at 84 links for a 24 " bar .

What about the 8 tooth sprocket on a 28" bar?

I noticed the saw has no lack of power but the chain is definatly moving slower than my 372XP.

327 runs at 13,600 rpm
385 runs at 13,000 rpm

Rob

I have my 385 set at 13,600 but then again it is also modded , but I can bury it in red oaks and hard maple and it pulls right thru with no hesitation. I think the factory setting is 13,200 for the 385 but not sure without looking it up
