I picked up some Walnut logs this weekend.

Out of the four trees we felled I ended up with about four nice pieces of bural.  Does Walnut have burl?

I am asking this question as the bark on one of the logs looks like Black Cherry.

Burls are common on Black Cherry.  Don't know about walnut.  Not lucky enough to have any in our woodlot.

Sure they do. Here is a phto that Larry posted a couple years ago of one he had.  Somewhere on the forum is a picture of a whole yard full of just  huge walnut burls but I cant find it quiteyet.

Thanks Jeff,

One of my Tree Service Customers droped by the other day and confirmed that all my logs are Black Cherry.

The home owner I took them down for claimed them to be Black Walnut, I did not pay close attention to them, I just say the crotches and burls that I was going to end up with.
