Tree ID Help....It's a long shot!

Hello All,

Hoping someone here can lend me a much needed hand. We have 2 trees that need to come down to make way for some construction. Problem is, I have no idea what kind they are - which will determine how carefully they're harvested. The link below is to an imagestation album with pics of the trees.

You guys are DanG good! After Dan posted, I went and looked at yellow/tulip poplar pics on the website of the nearest University - and I think you guys hit the nail on the head. Thank you!

Can I use poplar in a timberframe?

Riles

Liriodendron tulipifera, yellow-poplar without a doubt. The seed pods give it away in the cover picture.

It is used for structural components.
