I was in my neighbors barn for the first time and noticed the structural design.  It was built with bents in a double "A" configuration.  Although, not a true timberframe, it was unique as the beams were large and fastened together with bolts and plates.

My neighbor told me that there were three more barns built just like his in our area.  I'm going to have to go check them out and I'll surely post a picture when I get a chance to take my camera to his place.

  Hey that is great!  Photos and spans would be neat as well.    Looks like an old bridge builder started building barns.

I think I have seen something quite similar here in Finland. It was used as a kind of partition wall across a building. We call those bents "trenobein" in our dialect of Swedish.
