Hogging the highway in Searchmont

Searchmont, Ont. - Motorists travelling on Highway 556 just south of Searchmont experienced a rare traffic jam yesterday afternoon.

At about 12:30 p.m. an officer with the Sault Ste. Marie OPP Detachment rounded one of the curves on Highway 556 just south of Searchmont to find westbound traffic backed up and moving at walking speed.

Leading the traffic jam was a whip-wielding, pajama-clad local Searchmont resident attempting to coral a very large pig off the highway and back into its pen on the owners property.

The animal had apparently escaped the confines of its pen and the whip-wielding woman was trying to "save its bacon."

After some poking, prodding, pushing and pulling the large pig was eventually persuaded to "ham it up" in the pen and not on the highway.

That's the most exciting thing we've seen happen up here in awhile.  ;D

That's funny Kevin.  :D

We have that same thing happening around here.  You know when traffic is stopped up on the highway, it is never due to too many cars & trucks; but because the neighbors horses, cows or pigs are out AGAIN. So then we all have to join in and herd the strays back home. Ahhhh yes, life in the country is pretty much the same no matter where you call home!

And when someone breaks our wings....
We simply continue to fly ........

We are flexible like that.

A guy was driving down a rural road one day.
A woman came around the corner going the oppisite way, she was rolling down the window.
As she went by she hollered "PIG!!!".
He hollered back "You aint so good lookin yourself!!!".
He then drove around the corner and ran into a pig standing in the road
