I watched the Bailleys video.  I was very impressed but don't know about the weight limits of their grapples.  Any way to guestimate a logs weight based on boardfoot totals.  I figure it varies greatly by species.  I cut mostly oak and walnut.  Anyone know what they weigh green per boardfoot.

WOW!!!!!! According to those calculations, I moved a 9684.48 pound oak log today.  No wonder my little Massey 150 was straining.

WOW--that's cooler than I should probably have access to.  Doesn't take very much log to reach the grapple limits, even on my puny scale.

The lifting capabilities for the grapples are usually for lifting directly next to the bunk.  The capacity drops off quickly as the arm is extended.  I have found in many cases it is best the drag the log up to the bunk before lifting.  Oak, maple, beech and hickory are he-e-e-a-vy,
