Ok, how do ya get a horse and a weiner dog to breed?
Got my WM lt40g24, Setworks and debarker in oct. '97, been sawing part time ever since, Moving logs with a bobcat.

leweee

Harold.....you sure you can afford a "stretch limo" for log hunting ::)
just another beaver with a chainsaw &  it's never so bad that it couldn't get worse.

crtreedude

Harold, no self-respecting Tico would be seen on that thing.

Looks like it might be a bit springy in the middle....  :D
So, how did I end up here anyway?

Furby

Yep, I think ya may need to get a 6x6 model!

Got one for me?
Just spent 2 1/2 hours in a township board meeting.....................
Time to move, got room left in CR ???

Sawyerfortyish

Do you need seatbelts on that :-\  :D

Tom

it better have seatbelts if it's used in Costa Rica. :D :D

I hear they are adamant about their use. ;D

crtreedude

Well Tom,

There is a seatbelt law, but not for horses. In fact, on of the horsey things you learn is DON'T stick your shoes too deep into the stirrups - if you fall, you want to come out quickly, not get stuck and bounced along the ground for a bit with a runnay worse.

Might damage a tree or something....

Fred
So, how did I end up here anyway?

crtreedude

Furby,

Interesting - trying to sneak south eh?

When I decided to move to Costa Rica, I sat down with my long-suffering mother and said,

Mom, I am going to need to move to Costa Rica.

Mom then said, "What have you done....?"  :D

So, how did I end up here anyway?

Sawyerfortyish

What kind of milage does that get Harold? When you did a walk around and kicked the tires did it kick back? :D :D :D

TN_man

Make sure you load up from front to back so you don't kick the person off behind you. ;D

Hey Furby,

Was there trouble in River City?  Were you just attending the township board meeting, or are you getting grief?  I hope not!   :-\
Y'all can pronounce it "puh-SKOLLY"

Furby

Fred,
I think I spent too much time talking to Harold at SAWLEX. ::) ;D
Is there room down there for me ???

Paschale,
Both!
They want us to pay for GR's sewer improvements in both GR and Walker by raising our rates to $75 a month, maybe more. >:(
We are already paying 2 1/2 times what Walker is paying, and they won't tell us what GR is currently paying. >:(

crtreedude

Well, we can probably squeeze you in. Obviously they aren't very discriminating if they will let Harold and me in here.  :D

You will probably be let in as long as you promise to keep Harold out of trouble.
So, how did I end up here anyway?

Furby

That doesn't sound too hard...........until ya meet him eh? ;D

crtreedude

So Furby, how is your Spanish....  :)

More seriously, many people come to Costa Rica, many love it, and some end up hating it. It isn't for everyone, but we really love it. Of course we have lots to keep us busy down here.

It is fascinating and can be frustrating at times - but that is probably the same for anywhere.

I sure hope so, I think that is what he has to protect you from Harold...

Kirk_Allen

Spending 10+ years on the Chicago area the only Spanish I ever heard when trying to speak with the illegals was "No Abla".

They tell that to every gringo, cop, fireman, etc.

Fla._Deadheader

Works both ways, Kirk.  ;D :D

You know you are in Costa Rica when:

1. You don't check the weather forecast in the morning to see what you need to wear. For four months you don't carry an umbrella, for eight you do.

2. You never think about tomatoes being out of season.

3. Fresh pineapple becomes a staple, not a rare treat.

4. You don't have a single bag of frozen vegetables in your freezer.

5. You don't have to trim the fat off the beef.

6. You never get junk mail.

7. Your masseuse, your doctor and your lawyer all willingly come to your house.

8. Your car wash delivers your car to your house.

9. You are often handed something that you are not sure if you are supposed to eat it, or admire it, since you have never seen it before in your life.  You are afraid of offending them if don't put it in your mouth, but you aren't exactly sure it is safe either.

10. All unknown fruits are call Gavas.

So, how did I end up here anyway?

Teri

 :D :D :D :D

I feel sorry for the poor horse.

Dad tries to speak spanish around me but it doesn't work. I tell him to speak english or I get the stick out  and start threatening.  ;)  ;D

crtreedude

Teri,

I think that is the same reaction of the Ticos....  :D

Nah, they are really tolerant of people trying to learn a different language. Heck, I work real hard understanding your dad when he is here.  ;D
So, how did I end up here anyway?

Teri

I took spanish in high school. That lasted 2 weeks and I said the heck with this and went to shop class instead!  ;D ;D

Furby

Aw Fred!
Did ya have to ???

What's wrong OWW?
Afraid I may not do a good enough job with the pontoons ??? ;D

crtreedude

The rain is actually pretty nice - it isn't cold, but warm. Usually you will only need the pontoons where you are sitting around hearing people spin tall tales - yes the Ticos do it do.  It can get pretty deep.  ;)

Usually it rains in the afternoon - and then clears off, the mornings are usually beautiful. Not a lot of lightening - but we get some. No heavy winds that I have ever seen.

All in all, the climate is wonderful - and NO HURRICANES.

But we do have 7 active volcanoes.

So, how did I end up here anyway?

Fla._Deadheader

Speakin of Hurricanes.  ::) ::) ::)  Anyone seen the Weather Channel lately ???  ::) ::)

Tom

No.   Is it missing?  :D

Furby

Yep!
Got your bags packed ???  ;D

I hear there is a baby boom going on in FL right now.
When asked why, several women replied, no power, lots of time at home, candles......... ::)
I guess hurricanes can have a fun side  eh? ;D
