Well, fellas, haven't been on in awhile. See that the pics are still uploading? OK. So what's the porblem? I'm under the impression that if I upload photos from --Photos MUST be in the Forestry Forum gallery!!!!!-- that I'm not using (bandwith?) space on this site and it's better for the site to do it this way. Comments welcome. I'm not a coomputer neerd and haven't figured how to load pics to this site. I understand --Photos MUST be in the Forestry Forum gallery!!!!!-- automatically does this anyway. Don't feel like downloading more stuff to load pics. As I said any comments? Take care. Lewis.
My hobby is restoring old saw. Just because it's old, doesn't mean she can't run and look good again. Take care. Lewis Brander.

Redpowered, Thanks for the compliment. I thought you were  going to stop in at some piont in time, but haven't seen you as yet. Would be good to chew the fat. Lewis.

Jokers, you'll see the DA-211 and some others I've done, soon at the GTG. Take care. Lewis Brander.

Lewis,
While it does take up space on the forum, it is better to upload directly to the forum so that down the road when --Photos MUST be in the Forestry Forum gallery!!!!!-- springs a leak or you stop doing buisness with them or you even delete the pic there, this thread here still has a pic and the thread still makes sense!
The threads on the forum don't "expire" or get purged from the system like on other sites. They are retained as a knowledge base. Tons of people come here to read old threads, I know I do all the time. Once in a while one is brought back to the surface to see the light of day. The threads don't make any sense when the important pics are not there. ;)

Here is a link to info on uploading and posting pics, if you need any help, feel free to send me a message.

Furby, thanks for the link. I'll print it off and see if I can make sence of it. I'll download the optimizer program again and go from there. Seems like most of my photos in my picture folder have bee resized once or twice, but probably can do it again for this site. We'll see what happens. You take care. Lewis.

Just two;

Husky 262XP - about 18 years old now
Husky 346XPG - just got it recently to replace a Husky 50 I donated to the Mississippi clean-up effort

After reading about some of your collections, my two saws seems like a small selection.

You are right.  I was confusing the purchase date with the 50, which I bought in '87.  I just checked the receipt and I bought the 262XP in '91, so it's 14 years old, and the 50 was 18.

288 husky - its not really mine but pap has it set just for me and im the only one who runs it. iuse it for everything. good saw for cuttin logs apart. the only cuttin down i did with it was some little poles and i did a LOT of trimmin mostly hemlocks. little heavy for that till the end of the day  ;D its nice for firewood i can knock a pile od wood apart in a couple minutes but till the end its gets a little heavy for that to. i was cuttin some fire wood and a guy that was there had a  johnserred it was nothin compareed to what i was usin i looked up and his mouth was hangin open adn i herd my unlce say yea that saw runs pretty good then i wound er back up so i dont no what he sed

I have added a Clinton 351D, a McCulloch 35 that sorta runs and a Stihl 015AV since my last post. The Stihl needs a set of points which are obsolete :'(. Space is running short so I am trying to be more selective. Really. Honest. Good thing I don't have a significant other to deal with.

Easy - I mostly just cut personal firewood and such but one needs to have the right tool ;-) so

little saw is a Stihl 019T - 35cc w/ 14" bar
big saw is Poulan 245a - 75 cc w/18" & 24" bars ( an old but good saw )

parts saw is poulan 245a off ebay ( and just barely a parts saw )

now that I see how many saws are really required I'll have to check out the used market

Got a Stihl 034 av 18" and I traded 2 Echo's and bought a 036 pro 18" and 20" while the 034 was down for repairs after being ran over with the tractor and just purchased a used 046 20" and 28". 034 and 036 are used for just about everything and the 046 is going to be used for ripping logs that don't fit the bandmill.

Echo 750 EVL 24 inch bar, felling and bucking the stuff the 500 won't handle.
.075 Stihl 36 inch bar, since everyone needs a boat anchor  :D  Actually it gets used for quartering the big stuff that I can't squeeze into the mill.

had a 55 rancher that my brother gave me. I gave it back and asked what I did to make him so mad at me that he gave me that thing.  ;D ;D Seriously that was the hardest starting saw I have ever seen. And the cous's new husky ain't no better
