[shadow=red,right,400]It's a PARTY! 8) 8)[/shadow]

I've got feedback from good sources that the Wood-Mizer 20'Th Anniversary Party IS open to everyone who wants to attend - not just owners of Wood-Mizer mills.  The more the merrier!  :o

Details as I know them: :P

June, 29'Th at their headquarters in Indy.- Demos during the day of their sawmills and equipment and tours of the facility.  Carnival for the kids.  Food and drinks. Door prizes given out all day.

In the evening,  there will be a meal and concert by Larry Gatlin.  This will be held at an arena at the state fair grounds.

The grand prize of a new sawmill :o given away at the end of the evening. Must be present to win.

But you've got to pre-register and it will cost $20/adult - kids free. Call 1-800-553-0182 to register.

But Wait! That's not all!   8)

You could get to see the Bibbyman and the Arkansawyer in person!  We'll be there.  (I may even bring Mary is she's caught up on her sawing. ::))

Looks like there are going to be a number of Forum members attending the anniversary party.  :) I suggest we arrange someplace and time to gather at the event.   Maybe I can get them to make an announcement sometime in the afternoon for us to meet and get a group picture taken   ;D - say by the new LT70 or something.   ::)

I've asked about reserving a table or tables at the dinner and concert in the evening.  I was told the arrangements were not that structured but if we got there early enough,  we could stake out a couple of tables. :P

I'm not normally one to cry for organization but I've attend many smaller events and only found out later that I missed meeting someone that was there that I wanted to meet - or actually had a conversation with someone and not made the connection that they were a Forum member.

Looking forward to meeting you there! 8)

BUT BE FOREWARNED THAT MUCH ORANGE IN ONE PLACE COULD BE HAZZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH. (ie you may buy an new mill and not even remember it in the morining)

Where is Mass.?????  Is that up north some where????  Must be east of the Mississippi.
But we may both have to borrow a truck as I hit a cow on the way home from sawing last night.  My mill came out fine.  8) The Dodge is going to need a new grill and hood and I do not know what else as I can not get the hood up. :'(

Don't be getting you're hopes up on that new mill.  I think I need it more than you guys.  I had to do some sawing this morning to finish up an order and I ain't any too fast with the setworks yet.  That LT30 manual mill is just my speed.  We had two mills for about two years and sometimes it comes in handy. ;D

Mary has been doing about all the sawing on our new LT40HDE25-RA but she had to go check on her brother that got put in the hospital by a fence stretcher that flew back and hit him in the throat when the wire broke. :o  He's back home now – more test next week.

How did the Cow fair?  Is it in the pasture or the freezer?

DanG

Hey Arkinsawinguy, you need to shet that mill down a li'l bit earlier, so ya don't hafta short-cut crost tha pasture. Now, iffen ya had one o' these here Mobile Dimension type mills, ya could just drive that there Dodgem bumper car up on it and cut the hood off of it. ;D

Bibbyman, that sounds like a painful experience for yer bro-in-law. I bet that don't never happen to HIM again!  :o

Now if I can just talk ol' Tom into carpoolin' wit me, I might consider goin' ta tha Woodmizer shindig, myself.

Sorry Woodman but the way I see it,  the last you see of that mill will be the tail lights headin' west on I70!

I've got a lot of inside notes from people that say they are trying to make plans to attend.   Sure is going to be THE event of the year.

Some times I wish I was a twin so I could enjoy it more.  I'm afraid I won't have enough time to visit with my Wood-Mizer friends and meet all the guys from the Forum and make new friends.  It's going to be a lot of work. :D

When I used to work out at the IBM plant, I'd tell those Yanks, "You boys are gonna have to slow down If'n ya wanna keep up with me."  Or I'd say, "Us Southern Boys might speak slow but we thinks fast. Sometimes I get to thinking so fast that by the time my mouth gets ready to say what I was thinking, my brain is so far past that point that I forget what it was I was going to say........"   ::)

Budman, I hope they don't have grits in Indy. They'd probably just ruin them. Ya have to have someone that knows how to cook grits to cook good grits and yanks don't know how to cook grits. :o

Woodman,

I'm not sure what the criteria is for getting into the Pro-Sawyer program (it's more than a hat).  They sent us an application a couple of years ago and we filled it out and sent it back in.  Then a couple of months later they sent a jacket and hat and said we's Pro-Sawyers.  Probably has to do with how much you use your mill and do continued business with them - new blades, re-sharp, parts, mills, etc.

Sure would be something to check into when you're in Indy next month.   ;)

I did get some numbers on the Wood-Mizer Anniversary party -  Over 45,000 invitations sent out - over 1000 registered to attend and still coming in.

Well the truck is in the shop and the cow at the butcher and the mill is at home.  So I will be ready for the PARTY.  I have to haul a load of lumber up with me to trade for some while up North.  The new mill will enjoy life down south where the weather is mild and the timber is not frozen. :D
Woodman if you come by my house on the way any where you son are sorely lost.  I called 911 one time and they asked where they could re-fuel the trucks before coming that far.  It is 28 miles to the post office where my mail comes from.  Life is good here as we do not lock the doors, sleep with the windows open and leave the keys in the trucks.
ARKANSAWYER

Tom

Our county's "finest" are giving $50 dollar citations to people who leave their keys in their vehicles.  The TV station was covering it and the reporters as well as the policemen were having a grand ole time.  One lady on tape had filled her car at a convenience store and went inside to pay.  She was met with a ticket when she came back outside. There were a lot of instances and most got a good chewing out for aiding someone to steal their car.

I still feel that a car should be left alone whether there are keys in it or not. The crime is the theft of the auto and we should remember that.  It shouldn't be against the law to leave a $20 on the front seat and we should expect it to be there when we return.  It shouldn't be against the law to carry $10,000 in cash but it is.  Our constables will take it.

We can't get far enough away from'em down here, Arkansawyer.

DanG

We leave the keys in our's at night. I don't want them to come in the house looking for them.  Cops don't come into my yard without permission from Goofy and Pluto, who stand 24/7 guard at the driveway. G & P don't read, so Warrants don't help, much. They're just gonna have ta see ol' Dan, if they wanna check for keys an' such.

Millsy are you going?

DanG, look at it this way, if you wait its going to cost you ten extra. If you pay now, thats saves you ten weather you go or not. so if you take that ten you saved now and add the ten you would spend later that means that you have saved 20 bucks. Take that twenty you will save and register now. Its almost like you are going for free. This way if you don't go your only out the money you saved by not going. :-X

Looks like most of the "Sons of the South" are going to make it to the party.  That is if we can keep the livestock off the roads and can find someone to feed the dogs, hogs and chickens!

I asked Janet Godderd for recommendations on restaurants that dish up grits, biscuits and gravy and chicken fried steak.  Some place that didn't look at you funny when you turn to blow the sawdust out of your hand full of change before you leave the tip.  She came up with The Cracker Barrel. It's a "Hollywood" version of home cookin' but I think we can survive.   I did a search on the WWW and fond three in Indy and one looks to be only one intersection away from La Quinta.

I don't know what you guys up around the lakes eat besides cheese so I can't help you there.

Maybe I will even met a "Tree Hugger" for this ole country boy does not get out of the woods much.
But I do have a question for any of the Indy locals, Do I need to disarm my truck before coming North of do they check weapons in at the state line?   Here in Arkansas they check and if it is not loaded they load it for you and if you do not have one they may cut you a deal on one.  After all this is GOD's Country.
