I am pricing out 20' insulated containers.

The material of construction for these units are Aluminum exterior with fiberglass interior walls.  I do not have the thickness of the insulation yet but these units are for overseas shipping.

Will the fiberglass interior walls be suitable in a convential kiln application?

Units are available that are steel exterior with stainless interior walls, but, you guessed these units are more expensive.

Mark,
Check the past thread dated Dec. 7, 2004. It discusses the difference between insulated and refridgerated boxes and touches on their construction.
Doesn't really answer your question outright but is still a good read.

The fiberglass and aluminum interior is fine as long as the container was originally built to handle frozen foods and such. As a kiln, the 20' container will hold about 2000 BF.

Ga Boy,
If you find more insulated containers than you need let me know. I may have a use for one.
