Title: Yet another gx390 (clone) question/issue
Post by: btulloh on November 07, 2017, 04:44:04 PM
Someone gave me a predator clone of a gx390 or 420.  It needed some general tlc and new gas tank but it's running well now and driving a 7500 gen head for me. After thoroughly cleaning the gooked up carburetor it's running very rich. I can't find a mixture adust anywhere.  Am I just missing it? Do I have to change the jet?  Anyone have a clue on that?  Thanks

If it is like the Honda carb it will have a removable emulsion tube above the jet. Remove it and make sure the tiny air bleed holes are clear.

Thanks.  That sounds like the culprit.  This carb was full of goop. I probably didn't get those holes clean.

Well now we know where they got the screws to put to us.
