Title: 455 AND 460 Rancher Husqvarna Chain Question.

What size file is recommended to use on the 455 and 460 Rancher chain to sharpen, thanks.

Depends on the pitch. 3/8 takes 7/32" file. .325 takes 3/16" file. Measure center to center on 3 chain rivets. Divide by 2. = pitch. Or pitch data may be on bar.

Thanks, I have the 3/8 pitch, so I need the 7/32 file.

Does the 3/8 pitch take 13/64" (5.2mm) files??? and .404 takes 7/32 (5.5mm)

No, Oregon chain 3/8 = 7/32. Maybe you have some Stihl chain file #s

Stihl recommends 13/64" files on their 3/8 pitch chain. Everyone else recommends 7/32" (except for the 3/8" low profile chain, which is a different beast and unlikely to be on your 455/460).
