Title: Can anyone identify these seedlings?
Post by: kejasa on August 19, 2016, 02:01:30 PM
I dug up these seedlings under a huge pin oak in Michigan. I was hoping they were little pin oaks, but now that I have looked at them better I am not so sure. Anyone know what these might be?

I'm gonna say birch and wait for someone to chime in with the right answer. 😎

I was thinking forsythia...but I think they have opposite leaves not alternating leaves. The leaves look about the same though. Your probably right saying birch.

The birches are doubly serrate, like the one in the pic.  I am with Cliff.  Looks like a birch.
