Title: New covers of old songs.
Post by: Ianab on February 05, 2016, 05:15:05 AM
Heard this one the other day and was quite impressed. Reckon they did good job of a more modern and heavier version.

Wow. Started out kind of slow & was going to click off. But sure glad I didn't. I'd give it 2 thumbs up but they don't show from my phone. I'm usually a Ted Nugget fan,Fred Bear is at the top on my list, most of his I think are good. This Forum seems to amaze me everyday.

I ran across a bunch of pop and punk songs that are done in bluegrass.  These boys can flat out play:

Layla - Clapton cover

Thriller - Jackson cover

Some really good stuff out there.

Those are great! I'll add these. Better than the origins to me.

I heard that Disturbed version of sounds of silence before Christmas and added it to my phone music right away.  I also heve this version of "Ring of Fire" which I really like.  I always have to play it two or three times when it bluetooths onto my truck radio.

Another cover that I still have on my playlist from a couple years ago on American Idol. Creep.

This is on my phone so not sure it'll work but these guys are awesome.  The album version is better but I can't find it on youtube.  In my opinion it's better than the original!

This is far and above the best re-make of any song I've ever heard. Period. Exclamation Point! 8)

Now that said, part of me feels like I am doing something very wrong for appreciating their version. :-\

I've probably listened to it more than a hundred times in the last month. Computer speakers don't do the song justice. It is totally amazing when listened to through my ear buds or my son's "Beats" earphones.

A young kid that works for me is a huge Disturbed fan. They will be in Michigan for a concert in a few months and he's already put in for vacation time.

Is this it or is this the original?  Either way I think it's pretty good

Yes that's the new one. Haven't seen it since I think when it came out. When my Son came back from Iraq. He was a Marine Assault Man in a Weapons Platoon. He had that on some kind of portable player. He survived 2 roadside bombs. And still hearing about stuff a little at a time about over there. We didn't c the picture of the humvee  he was driving that got hit, till he got back. It was stressfull times back then.I'll b watching that video a bunch more times. Thanks for finding it.

For sure, you can't expect much from a tinny little speaker in a laptop or LCD monitor.  I have an old ~6" sub and amp box on the floor, that also drives a couple of small stereo speakers on the desk. It's a HUGE improvement for music and videos, and something like that might cost ~$100 new.

The kids will be sitting there with some song blasting out of Ipad speakers.... They don't know any better, but it sounds terrible.

I just tried the ear bud speakers I got with my new phone. Sure sounds good. Don't think my bride would like me having a regular stereo cranked to the nut at this time of the morning. Think I'd put The Bad Company video 1 & Distrubed a very very close 2nd on my list. Both high emotion songs.

You guys reminded me of the ear buds that came with my new phone.  I unpacked them and plugged them into the laptop.  :o

Now I can even watch sawmilling videos without "her" complaining.  :)

I have a Logitech subwoofer on the floor and 5 speakers that surround the desk.  The sound is incredible.
This place ROCKS and then my wife gives me the LOOK to turn it down. :D
