Luckily I'm working cutting firewood a 1/4 mile from the house. I'll bring the skidder out to the barn along with the farm tractor . I can cleanup and plow with the tractor after the storm. The skidder will make it easyer to get back into the woods. We have a hayfield 1/8 mile to cross to get into the woods.14"-20"+ here in Downeast Maine. Winds up to 50 mph expected. >:(
For the guys involved How do you prepare for the storm?
Well they say we are going to get some snow also .I think i will just cut and skid today so i dont lose anything in the snow or have to dig around in it
I sure am glad we have the White Mtns to shield us from those big coastal storms. We only expect 4 to 6 inches here.
That much snow and wind would shut my little operation down for a while.
I'm going to cut a pile of slabs for the boiler. Fix the pto shaft for the generator. Make sure I have plenty of hot chocolate so I can stand in front of the window and watch the snow come down.
Put more wood in the stove and enjoy my aging lab Buzz. Maybe 6" here forecast. Panic (the dreaded White Death) has arrived in Baltimore!
18-30" expected here.
Ive just moved 2/3 of a cord into my mud room. Tow chain, shovel, pillow, and food in my truck. I have to drive to the loader at the lot i plow for another contractor. Every year i tell myself im not plowing anymore, never seems to work. Like clock work we get a ton of snow when i get busy with tree work too. Lame.

Not nearly as bad as " down under" used to.
Glyndon is near Reisterstown. I'm about 35 minutes NW of B'more.
We're only expecting a dusting here at The Beach. Starting out as rain late this afternoon, then turn colder and change over to snow before daylight tomorrow. Dodged another bullet here. All you folks up north stay safe. :snowball:
Took the skidding winch and grapple forks off of Fergie, put the bucket and the snow blower on and she's all fueled up. 10 gallons of extra diesel in containers.
Generator fired on 2nd pull yesterday! Topped it off with fuel and moved it closer to the switch panel in the barn.
Walk behind snow blower fired up relatively easy yesterday. Topped it off and moved it to the front of the barn. 20 extra gallons of gasoline in extra containers.
Bring it! :snowball:
They've already cancelled work her for us for tomorrow and 2nd shift is going home at 10:00.
Shored up some roof supports that cover the sawmill and tractors. Put fuel in the tractors, tried the 4' snow blower and the drive chain broke. Now it's off to repair the 3/4" chain. Heck I fixed that chain 12 years ago when I bought that snow blower. :)

Best fridge picture.........ever
Nah, he forgot to get Natty! :o
Well my JCB 214s backhoe is plugged in,my kubota is ready to go, got beer and hard cider in the frige, and just in case i picked up a 1/2 gallon of captain Morgan !!!! ;D ;D My wife made sour dough bread and got a venison stew in the crock pot ! Don
The best sounding part of that is the sourdough bread. food6 food6.
We are fighting the usual battler of the generators here. Thanksgiving day was rough on pto shafts, and I am in the process of fixing one. The other needs a new yoke. Neighbors bigger (as in big enough to run the whole barn) wasn't available, so my parents drove to Salem, NY, to pick up an even bigger one. They got home with it and, you guessed it, it has no PTO shaft. ::) ??? >:( :D I dropped one of the caps on the new u-joint I was putting in and all the needles fell out, but fortunately, for the fist time in my entire life here on the farm, I was working in a garage with both heat, and a clean concrete floor. Found every one of them, including the one stuck on the toe of my boot. :D I hate tight u-joints without heat or a press. Fortunately it came apart once I manage to break all the clips out. Going to get my balljoint squeezer and take that home and finish putting it together. I'm hoping all of this preparedness will drive the storm out to sea. :D

Brought the tractor home from the wood yard today, filled it up, lots of dry firewood waiting in the shed, me and the wife are hunkered down watching CNN Of all things ( they are really hyping this one up, but I don't think they have to it looks like it is going to be a bad one, looks like a lot of people in NY are in for a a hard day tomorrow as well as the New England coast.
Cold here -10 c. No wind no precip, a real calm in the air.
Stay safe folks and all,the best.
i think i will leave my little f550 in the garage. this looks to be a big truck storm. the international is plugged in and waiting. around 2 am i will load it with winter sand and go to work
Albany channel 6 is putting us right between the 8-14" and the 14-20" bands. Burlington channel 3 has it a few inches less. Since we're here in the "Banana Belt" of Vermont, and have the Green Mountains to shadow us from the storms that come from the East, my money is on less than 8". The plow is on the truck and it's fuelled right up. I put the chains on the 2 wheel drive 2030 loader tractor, and that is full of fuel. Generator has been run lately, and there's extra gas; she shopped for grub the other day, and I lugged a bunch of firewood into the shop so I can find it to keep warm while I hide out in there. There's wood in the cellar for that stove if we need it. All is calm outside right now so I don't know when it'll start up, but let 'er rip................
Drink a bottle of Wild Turkey and drool on myself. I guess I do that every night. I don't know about the drooling part, that's what they tell me. I never remember that. But Wild Turkey,ya.
Raider Bill's forecast is about the same for me. ;) We are wishing for storms right now. Nothing since Christmas Eve :(
temp is 5 wind is up there 25+ not a snow flake yet. watching the radar its just off shore coming in off the north atlantic . it will not be long
=
Light flurries started here about half an hour ago, decided to take the day off of work as the highway we travel on to our current harvest block is a notorious killer in bad weather. Just looked out the window again and the snow has really picked up and the wind is swirling.

its here snow blowing side ways. i did sand . let it sit for a while now. long range forecast says more fri sat and sun mon
Not bad here. Roads are clear, some
Drifts but far from 18-30". More like 6-8".
8 degrees here, 25 mph winds with gusts to 35 right now. started snowing around 3:30
Tractor is by the barn and ready to go, I'm guessing wed morning, unless I get a call for help from one of the plow guys. Drifting will be a huge problem with the high winds.
Stay safe.
If we get the storm here it will be just another winter day. Use to it.
No biggie, use to it in NH :D :D :D
But if you listen to the news you would think the world is coming to an end. :D :D :D :D
I agree, Peter.
The forecast has gone from 18" to 8". Ho-hum.
My biggest problem now is 'what the heck is going on in my neighborhod ??? '
Cops wouldn't let me come home the normal road, had to go way ( 5-6 miles) around until I was about 500 feet from where I started to turn up my road. Cop truck in the driveway at 1 AM. Need to know if I won't be able to get back again if I leave so I can turn the furnace on.
Snowing hard and fast here. Very high winds. Can't see the trees on the other side of a 1/2 acre clearing. Was going to mill lumber for an order if things got too boring or I lost power, but the huge barn has so many holes in it, the swirling wind has covered everything inside and left drifts around the mill......
8°, 6" and breezy. Just a flurry at the moment. Travel ban on since 12:00 AM. I drove the 1/4 mile to the farm anyway. :D Gotta plow out for the milk truck. ;)
OK I am not from the east coast and it seem that I do not understand many, many things that seem acceptable back there.
Last night in the run-up to this storm there were all the dire warnings on the news and weather channel. They were reporting that if you were found out after a set time (I think it was 2300) that you were subject to a ticket and/or arrest. That you could not be out of your house. This was reported on two different stations so I don't think I misunderstood it.
That basically amounts to martial law if they can arrest you if you are found out of your house.
That strikes me as a bit extreme and questionable at best.
In most weather extremes, the authorities recommend that you not go out and that there will be no rescue capability if you get stranded for days/hours etc.; but defacto martial law where they can arrest you if you go out seems a bit odd.
Are there some laws that have proven to be constitutional back in you guy's neck of the woods that allow that?
They had a travel ban on last night but it's been lifted. I heard on the radio that in NY it was a misdemeanor and could carry up to a $300 fine. I don't know about the arrest part.
How did I prepare? I made my lunch, loaded up my saws and went to work like any other day. I did bring an extra pair of gloves in case my first pair got wet.
some of the reasons for a travel ban. look at what they use to plow with a trash truck with a little 10' plow in ny with 6000 miles to take care of. its pretty hard to plow with cars parked everywhere. in mass they run wheeler dump trucks with no wing. line em up 4 or 5 wide and go at it. any day time storm with traffic the snow will pack. so it costs more to get rid of it. in time fuel and salt. salt is expensive. so if buy keeping traffic down a city may save 50 or more ton of salt in a storm this size. most places were closed here today and it helped. i still saw a bunch of nim rod kids driving way to fast looking for a beer store that was open
did we get the 2ft they called for? its close with a lot of wind the snow is really moving. i had a lot of places that drifted into the road 4 to 5 ' deep
Yeah it's kinda hard to tell how much we have with all the drifting all I know is it's gonna be fun Thursday braking in woods roads been spoiled with the last few winters. Tomorrow I will spend most of my day in a 1 ton pushing snow up to ironwood doing cleanup I guess. Hope to make it to Bangor to get parts for my JD in the afternoon
I don't think we got more than 6" or 7". It's getting windy and starting to drift now, but I don't think there is enough snow to cause too much trouble. I think it made it up to 9°, but is back to 8° now. :D
We plowed 6" with the 4'-5' drifts.I've been running chains on all 4 sides of the 550 I use to plow for the town,we have a layer of ice on the dirt rds thats the hardest I've ever seen. We run a wheeler,a 4900 intro 4x6 with all season sander bodys and the 550 ford w a flop on the back sander. Plow 12 hrs so it was a ho hum storm.
i left my 550 in the garage a used the ih. big job you need big tools. ed what do they have for sander bodies? i have a mg on the 550 and a bigger mg on the ih. they dump sideways. i like em they work good
Everest, they dump sideway too.
The storm was a bust around "here", but I feel for you folks over on the coast. Snow didn't start until about daylight, and blew every which way; mostly from the NorthEast. We wound up with three, maybe four, inches by the time it let up in late afternoon..............
Oh, well...better to be ready than not. Hope all of you came through alright. Stay safe. Stay warm.
Sprucebunny, did you ever find out what was going on in your neighborhood?
I would say we are up to 25-28 inches here!!! Will get a good measure out back of my garage out of the wind!
The only thing we got was a dang cold north wind! Very strong at times.
About 6" of snow here !! i was hoping for about a foot so everyone relying on snow to make a living would be happy!! we only had about 6" of snow on the ground before this storm. ;D
This is how I spent my morning
(https://forestryforum.com/gallery/albums/userpics/34559/image~23.jpg)
I used to have an old highway plow i hooked to my skidder blade, was a lot easier on pickups! ;D one road we plowed was over 2 miles long, that was a P.I.T.A.!!!!! I feel bad for you guys that got hammered ,it makes a hard job, harder.
Not much where I live, 12 to 18" I'd guess. I had one spot near the house where the snow went over the feed chute to my walk-behind snow blower. I work 21 miles east of where I live; they got hammered here. 32" measured!
I've got drifts up to 4ft in many places. Nearest I can figure though is we got around 22". Wind is still pretty high right now. Makes clearing up a pither.
We got about 20-28in, depending on what part of town you were in. Checked at 2:45, just a dusting and strong wind, same at 3:45.... By 5:30 we had a good 5-6in base and a good blowing wind. Spent 9hrs. in my truck on camp roads (8ft fisher on a 2500hd), and then the next 9 in the towns Komatsu with a 11ft foil plow. Got to plow the school when the rest of the guys shut down for a nap at 9pm (they started back up at 1am to clean up, I got ready for regular job). Big school parking lot with 20ish inches of snow and a foil plow was not the hot set-up! Snow finally stopped sometime after 2am. No power outages so no complaints. Woodstove kept the house toasty!
Just got back from the woodlot. I'd say 16-18" of snow in the woods. The field road had about 10" in that with a couple drifts up to 2'. I started the skidder and broke out the twitch trail so that will setup tonight. Real light snow so it doesn't pack well. The winds are letting up , down to about 15 mph now, snow is still moving in the open spots.

My neighbor called last night and said there snowblower wouldn't run and they had to go to work the next morning.
So Fire up to old plow truck, plow out my other 4x4 first.
early In the process realize snow is coming over the top of the 7-1/2 foot fisher.....
2 passes per winrow later i get to the neighbors driveway...
long story short... if i had a snowblower and my neighbor had a plow truck... my snowblower would be "broke down too!!!!!
:D
Yikes ! We got away this time or at least we are not getting much.
We've got another 12" on the way tomorrow. Got to get a whack of logs milled up today, if it warms up any.....
Still digging out.
Here's the logs before:

And now:
I've also had to shovel the drifts out of the barn......
Over two feet blown into this one corner and all under the mill......
In the cellar of the barn, it took me a while to find the bucket & tap to water the horses....
I feel for you guys, I don't miss that kind of winter at all.
FS
Looks like cleanup time, and more than just snow. ;D
And, some marginal logs sawn into boards to nail up over the cracks might help keep the snow from blowing in as the wind blows through the barn. A cheap tarp or two as well.
Lotta extra work now, and mess when it all melts in there. Feel for ya... but can't reach ya... (old sayin)
Beenthere....if this were my place it would be tight as a drum..... As it is an overpriced rental with no lea-way and plenty of other peoples' stuff in the way I make do and focus on the more important things--like keeping the snow from blowing in the house under & around all the doors and keep the place above 42˚ and the pipes from freezing...
Hey Woodhauler must enjoy that that garage you built about now
Just got done from clearing all the snow. I even did the woods road too. I can pack down about 8 inches, but 3 times that much is kinda hard with just a tractor.
it was good to see the snow settle a bit and the salt dry up the back roads some today.
my niegbor cleaned the snow out of his wood yard yesterday, hope to see him and clark back to work soon.

My kingdom for a rear mount snowblower...course then I wouldn't need the snowblower. ::) Like you Ray I just finished cleaning up today. Nice thing about that storm, not much build up on the roof cause of the wind. I've got a long dormer that if I don't climb and shovel off I get wicked ice-dams, don't think I'll be so luck after this next one.

You may have to bring the 550 to the pond!!!!
Another 12"+ that we don't need in the woods. That will make it hard slogging when it comes to limbing wood. Wet heavy snow will make it worse. We still have another 50 cord or better of firewood to do, all by hand. I brought the tractor out yesterday and got that in the barn. Skidder has a twitch behind it so I can widen the road out , then into firewood it goes. Stay safe
Finally got the logs for an order uncovered yesterday mid-morning. Dragged the mill out of the barn to them and got started, but didn't make much headway. Snow's starting to fall now, so I think I'm going to cut the cant on the deck, toss the edging pile in the barn and find a tarp big enough to cover the mill and ride this next foot of snow out. Hope this storm doesn't last long....I've got 10 logs left to mill so I can get a "paycheck".....

I got
blasted yesterday by the plow guy. Was digging out the front of the drive with the tractor, luckily I was mostly done and was actually in my driveway not sticking out into the break down lane. The first truck went by just doing the main part of the road but about 5min later the second guy came through with the wing doing the break down land and knocking the bank back. I was facing on coming traffic, I just barely got my arm up over my head/face. He completely covered me and the tractor, all down the back of my coat! yikes_smiley :snowfight1:
I laughed at the time but if I had the bucket of the tractor out there at all things would have ended very poorly...mostly for me. :-\

He wants to be real careful with that unit, if he hits a bridge abutment with the corner at 40-50 mph he is in for a wild ride.
Snowstorm, the open field, blueberries or taters? Speaking of bridge abutments, was riding with BIL yrs ago and he caught one with the rear left tire.It riped the axle right out, we went for a ride right up the bank on far side :o .It's funny now ,but not at the time when FIL showed up :( .
Get ready for tomorrow, their playing this one down a little after the last,so now we'll get hammered ;D .

here the state dose most of the major roads and 95 but not the turnpike. the bigger towns have there own equipment. a lot of the smaller towns contract it out. i plow some town owned roads and some state aid roads. state aid means the state owns the road it pays the town to plow it but the state dose the ditiching culvert replacement and paving

We've got about as much now as we did for the "big" storm. :D Still coming down, but slowly, so we might get the 10" if it goes all day. I heard someone talking yesterday that their work had already been canceled. ::) ::) My great-grandfather used to drive school buses in the '50's and '60's. He carried scoop shovels so the big kids could shovel the drifts. :D
Coming down hard and fast here. Already got a couple of inches since 7Am. Got the last log on the deck milled, barely. I think it warmed up to 5˚.... Now I can get the order trimmed, measured and stacked inside, out of the weather.....and find out why the well stopped running.....
Spent yesterday digging out my log pile from the last storm. Figured if I didn't, the snow we get today on top of it would bury it until spring. Coming down hard here at the moment!
Spent part of yesterday making a sliding track. Kind of tradition.... Started further up the hill than usual. Wife drove along side the track in our Polaris Ranger and clocked my daughter and I doing 20 MPH on our new LL Bean snow tubes! ;)

which Nor'easter we're talking about anymore! Just seems like one long one at this point. :( Yesterday it never got above 2°F but snowed as hard as I've ever seen. This is rough.
We only got about 8" in the first storm, and maybe 12" yesterday. Not really much inconvenience, until the hydraulic pump stripped on the backhoe pushing snow piles back. ::)
14" here and lots of drifting. 4ft in a week. i know its nothing compared to lake effect. these were ocean effect storms........and our pond is bigger
I checked the depth of the snow last storm, 15" in my driveway. Today I checked yesterday's storm 12" in my driveway.
Lots of shoveling now.

is it an old case? diesel? some of there motors used chrome liners they would last forever but the liner orings would not and leak coolant in the oil then it turns a bearing. been there done that
the weather guy on the news said eastport me got over 6ft of snow in the last 10 days
Snowstorm, your a lucky man, boss runs the freightliner w/11' + the wing and people in this town will drive right up to him and expect him to move over >:( . We ended up with 14". 14hrs yesterday and 10 today to clean up.We're having some drifting, but if the wind comes up we'll have a few places that will need the FEL to dig out, snow is fine and dry great for drifting.

PS. Dave Shepard, I know what you mean I lost the engine in my backhoe. I don't know if it can be fixed or not. All mechanics are busy driving snow plows to come over and drop the oil pan.
is it an old case? diesel? some of there motors used chrome liners they would last forever but the liner orings would not and leak coolant in the oil then it turns a bearing. been there done that
508CK, I think, 159G gas engine.

I checked the depth of the snow last storm, 15" in my driveway. Today I checked yesterday's storm 12" in my driveway.
Lots of shoveling now.

just rebuilt the 336 in my old case skidder a few months ago thats what happened the liner got a pin hole or 4 in them and the alien blood got inside ;D
We got a foot here Monday. Got dug out yesterday but didn't do much else. The temps and wind were brutal.
Today I got over to my cedar harvest. It was 30ish and nice out. But wading thru 4ft of snow and busting thru the plow bank got old fast. Only got a strong cord out with a half a cord ready to pull out tomorrow. If it isn't snowing.... White stuff falling now.
Not quite sure why but this winter is seeming brutal.
We are about to get a taste of it. :-\ Heavy rain coming in tonight for the coast and snow, lots of it, for the interior. We are running low on parts for snow blowers, belts and shear pins are in short supply. This has been some winter and it ain't over yet.

Although our winter was really good up until a couple weeks ago it has gotten brutal. Looks like you got the snowplow picture taking conquered with the new phone. Now lets see some pics of the rottne and keto chopping big trees.

That pine in the background would be a good test
Looks like somebody was already testing it on the sides. :D That would make a good firewood chunker.

I hate to say it's been about perfect here in the 70 range most days but I could use a snow day from the grind. We finally got some needed rain today and it came down in a big way. Stay warm boys. :)
in the bangor paper it said they have 53" of snow on the ground. tiring the record from 1969. i remember the winter of 69. there was snow enought in late oct to snowmobile on almost all of nov then through to mid April. there was a house that the snow drifted high enought that someone rode there sled up to the second story window
My father said they opened the roads around here with a D-8 in '69. There was a lot of fence building done that spring. :D
I just took my lawn mower in for service today. Hope the lawns don't get away from me. Guy said 10 days 2 weeks. That's 4 inches of grass but I figured it is winter and everything slows down a bit.
Rode the bike to the Florida State Fair Saturday. In a T-Shirt 8) [not much of a State Fair unless you like rides IMO] your mileage may vary.
Sunday we sat outside and watched this guy dance on the grill

Yesterday was cold. Got down to 63 so I turned the central heat on and had the fireplace blazing.
It's strawberry season here by the way

mmmmmmmm smiley_biggrin01
Raider Bill, strawberries,Plant City??? I will be looking for them in the stores. ;D
blizzard warnings are up. everyone ready?
and another sizable storm for wed
Another 12-24" will not help in the woods at all. Time to get the loader out to the barn for the weekend. I'll have to push some banks back in a couple driveways and fill the fuel tank. Hopefully this will be the last real big one, but I may be wrong about that.
Trying to get more wood into the house before the next round of snow. Most winters it's just a simple fill the lawn trailer and drag the wood into the basement behind the ATV. Not so much this winter...

Never did put railings on the front porch, this winter we really don't need them.
:o Wow, that is too much to deal with at once.
QuoteTrying to get more wood into the house before the next round of snow.
Looks like a big job. Will you post some pics on how you go about that? Maybe putting that wheelbarrow to work along a narrow path from the woodpile to the porch?
Or.. a bigger path and bigger equipment? ;D
Yeah, I've got a good sized tractor but it's got a little snow on it...
Tractor is hooked up to my Hakki Pilke 1x37 wood processor so I don't use it on the driveway. Probably should have moved it on one of the last 5 or so times I plowed the driveway! I moved some bankings with the towns Komatsu WA320 the other day when I stopped for dinner during the snowstorm (nice to have your house on the plow route). But as you can see, it's still a mess!

I'll try and get some photo's with my junior assistant tonight.
At least you don't have to shovel your roof!
Has anyone on here ever cut in 5+ feet of mealy snow I'm kind of worried if we get the 2ft they are talking about if the skidder will even go in it it has a hard time now. I guess worse comes to worse I will have to have my grandfather bring over one of his dozers and plow me some roads
Maine logger, were in the same boat here in Columbia Falls. 3 feet in the woods with 2+ feet on the way. We may have to shut down a couple days. We may have to sit on these and watch it settle a little.

again we are right in the bullseye of this storm. 2ft + and winds over 50 kts. when the first black fly finally gets here i am not going to hurt him
Rest up Snowstorm, looks like a long one and hard with the winds. Stay safe
I love it.... I'm not going to hurt 'em. Eat away my son....
Too funny. Made me LOL literally.

Gotta go !!

I am not familiar with this language, but sounds eastern Europe.
nws says snow fall rates of 2to4" per hr
ouch!
Who would have thought when this thread was first posted it could become a sticky?? Stay warm up there.
3 jugs of gas and full generator. ;D
Great utuber Lopet, under those conditions probably best to "not" understand what is being said. 8) :D
don't understand the weather man said it was coming a few weeks ago it came at no point did I here him say when it was leaving :o :D
this storm was a dud. around 2" so far.
about 5" here but the wind is blowing. I'm glad it was a dud. 8)
Me too. ;D
12+" of snow here ::)
Only 2-3" on the ME/NH border near Conway.
Had a quick blast of East wind a little while ago but calm again.
I would not count it out just yet, It's still in the Gulf of Maine Spinning.

Getting hammered here on the coast. I'm 5 miles inland and the wind is some fierce. Been snowing pretty steady since noon Saturday, but it's light, fine snow. I think we may have gotten 6" over-night, hard to tell. The wind is picking up snow left by last storm and moving it all over the place. Can't seem my thermometers as they're drifted in and I don't feel like wading through 4feet of snow to clear em. I'd day it's below 10˚ out there without the wind.
Tried to get some logs out last week, but couldn't make much forward progress. At least one out of every 5 trees I tried to fell was in 5 feet of snow. My saws took a beating starving for air in a snow pit. I strongly dislike limbing and bucking while standing on the tree....but it was the only way to make progress without wearing myself out. Snowshoes might help, but not with getting on and off the tractor so much. This weather is killin us one-man shows......
Had about 4" on the ground when I came in from the barn last night. Not sure how much more we got overnight, but it's blowing to beat the band and still coming down here. 15 degrees out.
We only got a few inches so far 8) Hope we don't get much more!
5" here maybe. Plenty of wind and drifting.
The wind started to scream down here last night and has not let up. There was literally barely a dusting of snow last night and the local news folks made a giant deal out of it. Now they are calling for a foot for us out of this next storm on Tuesday, that will be interesting.
Well here in N.E.PA 4-6 inches . Now just dealing with Wind and cold temps (12 f )Blowing snow ! OWB is working well . Still wood in the pile so We are good . Back Home NH looks like they were making out OK. Foot of Snow in Concord . 4 to 6 inches in Conway . Not looking forward to the rest of the week . Snow and Cold temps. Five more weeks of winter LOL :) :snowball: :snowball: :snowball:
Still lite snow with winds up to 50 mph, average is about 30 right now. 12 degrees here in Columbia falls. Looks like the maritimes are under the big gun. I'd bet there going to get hammered hard, good luck to them all and stay safe.
They just downgraded the storm. Looks like we missed the most of it.....until the next one.
It's windy here , but the snow is subsiding. Didn't get much more than 5" inches.
We got pounded here. Around 18" of snow, then got warm and rained for a bit. A lot of the main roads in Halifax flooded because the storm drains are blocked and now the temp is back down to well below freezing. Roads are skating rinks. They are asking everyone to just stay inside for the next 24hrs.
we are about the same as Ryan D here .Prob never going to get back to the woods . :D
From what I have seen it hasn't been a very nice winter for you guys Ryan. The roads have to be a mess now after all that rain and then the freezing.
