Title: Call for Presenters - 2014 TFG Conference
Post by: Heartwood on February 25, 2014, 03:30:25 PM
The Timber Framers Guild annual Conference will be August 6–10 at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester NH.
We are looking for suggestions for presenters, demonstrations, Timber Olympics events and other fun and entertaining ideas.
You can post ideas here on what YOU'D like to see, and if any of you want to make an official proposal to present you can download the form with details at http://www.heartwoodschool.com/images/conproform2014.pdf (http://www.heartwoodschool.com/images/conproform2014.pdf).

There has been so much good information and discussion on the Forestry Forum over the years that we hope some of you will consider sharing in person at this great gathering of the guild.

 8) Ah good! East Coast conference means I'll be there with the crew.  8) We have our throwing axe at the shop for lunch time practice, so we will be ready! :snowball:

I have considered the idea of presenting a time or two, and once or twice people have suggested to me, maybe I should consider presenting some of my studies at a guild conference.

I'll say I have never pursued it because, really I haven't felt qualified to.

But I'll present it here, unofficially. Because I'd love to be able to share some of what I know -the things that I specialize in that are generally unknown in this country- with the guild community. Mostly because I would like more people to know some of these things, and also I'd hope to build up more interest in the hopes of working further with it

How about a team hoisting competition for the olympics?  Set up a gin, haul up weights until you caint no more!
