Title: PETERSONS 8” X 8” BOARD REMOVER
Post by: Emah on July 13, 2008, 10:15:36 PM
Hey Guys and Gals  smiley_wavy

How big is big?  ??? Here at Petersons we knew our board remover could move big boards, but how big? After a specific customer enquiry we thought we should do an experiment to test just that.

We milled a 8x8", 6 meter long board of wet pine. Not knowing if we were going to have to pick this massive board off the log ourselves or not, we proceeded to finish our experiment and used the board remover - and it pushed the board off with ease!  8) 8)

Curious to know how heavy this board actually was, we went and weighed it at the local freight depot. Much to our astonishment it weighed in at a massive 488.88 lbs (220 kg).  :o  :o

But stories like this are better seen then told. So take a look at video of it.

That was a good size timber that was moved.  Must call 'em boards down under.  :)

With all the edited video, will just take your word for it,  :) ....as it was difficult to tell just what was happening without seeing the continuous action, or the parts which were cut out. Jerked my eyeballs around trying to keep it all in focus.  :) :)

Hey  smiley_wavy

No yeah actually we had a truck pulling it from the other end.  ;) No just kidding!!  :)

It's all real we cut the board and the board remover pushed it of but of course it didn't push it of as fast as it would with a 1x8" but it did a good job.

Cheers
