oooh. pete I would love to check that out. I would love to upgrade but hard to justify it with the miles I ride every year.

Pete, that is a very nice ride. We have 600 GSX s. The engine is incredible. Touch the starter button and it is running. Your going to like that sled.
Let me know when your trails open,  my wife and I like to ride there. Usually park at Mountain side(?) On 281 then head your way.

I'm hoping to get out after the first of the year. Our snow down low hasn't been great, but over 7500' I hear its pretty decent. Are you guys limited to trails and lakes? One benefit to all the national forest out here is that most of the terrain is fair game, if you can get to it, that's why I have a long track  ;)

We have plenty of snow this year. We went out to check on and refuel the guy plowing the log road we are hauling on yesterday, thinking we would haula load today, but not happening until the weather cools off some. I am not a sledder, but the warm weather we have had is probably good for sledding, at least they would not freeze, but the snow is heavy, like lower 48 snow.

yea, pretty much stuck to state trails and lakes that the trails run across. after living in AZ and having all the freedom of wide open places to explore snowmobiling is the only option for that in NY

Bummer of a day yesterday. Out riding with a friend, finally get some local riding. Get to a pretty ugly water crossing. This little voice in my head says "you probably don't want to do that today". So we both decided to go back the other way.

After turning around I start noticing my drivers side knuckle is bouncing around quite a bit. I started thinking no big deal its probably just worn out bushings. We get to a trail crossing and I decide to take a look at it. When I grabbed it to shake it there was alot more than bushing movement. Of course you couldn't see anything till the pipe was removed.

Apparently before I purchased the sled someone had hit something with it. You could see the hammer marks where they tried to straighten the aluminum bulkhead. Over time it just tore off. Good news was we were not far from the shop so went back to the shop and called it a day.

Only my second ride of the year and broke :( I might have 15 miles on it so far. guess I can't complain to much the last 3 years have been flawless.

probably would have been fine if the previous owner did not hit something. The other side looks fine.

We spent Christmas out in Fraser, CO where we had a 4 hour snowmobile trip scheduled. The weather didn't cooperate with enough snow so the best we could do was a 1 hour guided trip that was actually about 40 minutes of riding. It was pretty lame but gave us a taste of snowmobiles. As far as the actual riding it seemed very much like riding one of my 4 wheelers except for the freezing part! What I'd really like about it would be the ability to ride anywhere there is enough snow. We're going to do it again and hope for more snow next time.

Got to 0 over night and snowed about 10 " on Saturday.
Didnt ride much then only 15 miles or so but was nice.

I need to fix my sled so I can get some miles in. Unfortunately the riding is taking from the mill building time. I just can't win.
