Live Edge Spalted Maple Salvage Project
« on: August 22, 2017, 10:46:39 pm »
Here is my latest completed salvage project and first using spalted maple.  Log was salvaged from local burn pile and milled on my ezjr.  From the outside it looked like a nothing log and then I cut into it and was pleasantly surprised.  The base is solid 3/4 inch wrought iron found during family vacation in Boulder Colorado a few weeks ago.  I rode by a yard sale down the street from my sister's house on my bike in the morning.  when I went by later that evening it was sitting out front with a free sign on it.  With a little re-arranging of luggage it made the trip home to Illinois.  I just love taking things headed for burn/trash and giving them a second life.
