what would be the longest bar i could run on a 268

i seem to recall, when i was climbing trees this summer.  that we had 20 something incher on the company 268, but the saw is about 4h.p.  what do you think would be the longest i could go with the bar without burning it up?  what i really need is a good used horrorshow 394xp, that thing is louder than my husqy dirtbike!  so if you fellas have any input, that would be great.
