contrary to popular belief, your property is still yours whether they want to live on it or not.  I'd cancel any hunting rights for people who wanted to abuse the privilege. I'd back it up with posted signs and a note to the local Sheriff too, just so he knew I was having a problem.

A note telling the sheriff that you were having trespassing problems doesn't necessarily mean that you are asking him to be envolved.  It does, however, alert him to your having a problem and that you might be requesting his help.  It comes in handy sometimes to set a precedent with authorities when you are beginning to have a confrontation with a third party.  If something does go awry, you have already alerted someone that you are in the right.   You never know what the third party will do.  Some of those idiots might try to put you in a compromising situation.  That would make it nice for the Sheriff to already have on record that you you were dealing with the jerk and might go a long way in proving that you were seet up.  Some of our citizens are good at harrassment. :)

Here if a squatter clears the land and lives on it for 10 years he can get a deed for it and then he has to pay the land taxes :D.

Or you can post your land with sigins every 50 feet apart that says,''POSTED'',you can buy the signs at Lowe's,they come on rolls were they tear apart like trash bags do.

My wife (before we got married) had some farm property, a family of non-residents pulled up made camp in the barn with their own cows while they were out on vacation.

The law protected the non-residents from "eviction for 30 days"  Wife said they weren't allowed to turn off water and power to the barn by court order. .....

Good thing I wasn't around then I'd probably be in jail for running them offffffffffff.,

I don't think I understand how you speak :D

You're asking how others have dealt with squatters, how many squatters, if the squatters had kids, if the squatter ate your deer bait and if the squatter helped out on the farm?

Here in NY, there are two kinds of trespass. 1) criminal and 2) environmental.

You need to post your land properly against trespass in order to get the law (police) to take action against trespassers unless a crime is being committed by the trespassers.

Hears my take on interpreting this....You invited them to kill deer that were a pest, they helpout on the farm, they are taking advantage of the relationship/friendship,
and you are conflicted about the situation,
and decided to relax with a few beers?

Ah ha! I gottcha now!  A hunter was invited to hunt to keep the deer population down and has started bringing his children to hunt.  They help out farming to "repay" for the right to hunt on your land.

They now have built a camp and are living on your land.  Here I was thinking you had a family of illegals living in your woods stealing your deer bait :D :D

Ok, lots of that goes on here, usually without asking or permission.  Generally the landowner will ask them not to camp on their land / tell them to tear down their camp.  If they don't comply the landowner usually burns it down or moves it and uses it for themselves.

Most hunters are reasonable about respecting landowners especially if it is a good hunting ground.  Tell the man you can't have him camping/living on your land for insurance reasons or something like that but they're welcome to continue hunting during days.  Make sure they take down the camp too.
